Most people don’t have enough money because they stick to a job that doesn’t make them enough money but the fear of losing the ‘easy little’ they earn keeps them trapped in a numbing routine that obstructs them from leading a happy life and a successful career. The only way out is CHANGE. Issam Salih is a young expatriate working in Malaysia as a Director for a multinational corporate training and consulting firm that has footprints in thirteen different cities in South East Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Before that he worked as the Chief Operating Officer for a leading airline GSA in one of the world’s most corrupt regions where he learned how to navigate his way through major ethical and legal challenges.
Issam took courses in Business, Air Freight and Fine Arts. Fascinated by Behavioral Science, he has been a passionate learner of Psychology and its applications in modern life which widened his perspective and gave him that extra edge.
Throughout his career, Issam has helped two companies crush competitors and expand in a short period of time by adopting a rather aggressive and agile approach in conducting business. He “walked the talk” and as a result, he’s a successful man at a young age with a lot to offer. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Im in my early 40’s . In a high paying Job . However , the amount of stress i encounter on daily basis is staggering . I can’t Even describe it in words . That being from High job demands, and Narrow sighted corporate robots . I bear all of this for the sake of my family. But this kind of situation starts to literally damage you , mentally, physically and even emotionally. I’m reaching a breaking point, i feel like walking out of my job ( just like my friend in the same position as me did last year) . I have many talents i could rely on,and do something else, but again, those family needs, demands actually get heavier and heavier as the rime goes by . My advice to you , and to my younger self : stop overthinking it , truly invest in you, don’t get trapped and planted .because its not fun at all . Until i figure out something, Best of luck to you all..

Oh I forgot i actually left this comment. But here is an update about my situation: You could clearly see how i felt then, and that resonates with so many other people. We all do know that Choking Stress.. well, long story short, i left my Job of 19 years in mid October23,thats 3.5 months ago. It was almost non planned, but was thought of nonetheless. I reached a blocked road, and my desperation was to it’s absolute limit..it was the end of a working week. And i Felt it was my last. so i went to work at night after closing, Gathered all my stuff, and the next day had a meeting with my direct supervisor( which i still have communication with), since we go back years and years. Anyways, We agreed that i can’t continue, and im absolutely burnt out. He was extremely surprised, but Really wished me good luck, and told me he had no worries that ill figure things out. If you asked me last year, i would be out of (Regular) work for months, i would tell you , i will drown in this Non forgiving society. But hey, I could tell you Today, I have never Felt Better in my life, Ever. I am Married, My wife Works( Her income is half of mine), And i Have 2 Kids In College. Well, So far, Im up to-date on all of my Recurring expenses, you know, Insurances, Car payments, College related expenses, Groceries, Mortgage, Credit Cards…etc. How ? at the beginning, for the first 3-4 weeks, your brain will be blurred with no clear vision or even thinking . But as time goes by, you start considering different options….and sources of (survival) . For starter, You’ll be owed your latest Job Salary, and whatever you had left of your PTO. And That will Keep you afloat for at least a month or so. Then my wife stepped up, and showed as much support as she can. Yes , i still have 50K plus on my credit cards. And i was offered a loan from My Brothers with easy Terms….But i gracefully declined. I was offered a Job with a bit lower salary, but a different setting the first week….however I didnt want to Rush( the offer is still up) . Then yesterday I was offered another Job in a total different segment of my Healthcare profession , and im considering That . The companies that offered Jobs are Amazon and Siemens respectively. But for the Time Being , believe it or not, I always had a knack for Stock Trading . So IM doing that, and so far Im profitable and Doing fairly Ok. sorry about the detailed story, But figured some would like to know ! it is no doubt a scary Move, and You will have some Rough Days, Hard thinking and reflecting Moments. Its a leap of Faith no Doubt….However Trust me when I say, there will never Be a proper time for such a move. But make sure you have some kind of a safety Plan, at least Some Ideas….and Be very Open Minded about that. Good Luck to you all, And Power to All of us in the ( So called), Middle class). I hope my explanation Helps a bit ….Trust your Selves, and Have Faith in your abilities.

@@stalin1909 Thank you, I appreciate your story and no, it's not long for me, the more I learn of people's paths similar to mine, the more I get to understand what I'm going through. Like you, I've worked in a company for 14+ years and I left, now I'm working for another company and 1.5 years in the job I always feel like my soul is being crushed, my mental health is getting affected, losing sleep where to find the next role, etc. Been thinking of quitting in 6 weeks, depending on my state of mind, but I've been thinking of quitting for the longest time, I just can't fathom the idea of where to get the money to pay the bills, but I know and trust in the heavens that I can find that company where I can stay long term and enjoy the rest of my working years. All the best to you.

More than anything, he succeeded because he had faith. You have to change your mindset if you want to succeed in a business or be self employed. You have to be ready to wake up earlier, go to sleep later and give your all to your business even though the first few years will not be so great financially. I just accepted a job this week (a month later) doing my dream job of becoming an event specialist with a large hotel chain! I couldn't be more excited to start a job that won't be behind a desk every day. I am grateful for the time spent doing marketing because it allowed me and my husband to save up for our house we built, but now I can breathe and take a step back and still pay the bills. Don't quit because you want to, quit when you can afford to. Money doesn't buy happiness it buys freedom. If you have responsibilities and bills to pay you have to be damn sure that when you quit your boring job, you can still fulfill those responsibilities. You can't just tell your kids "Hey gang, we might not be able to eat for a while because daddy will be quitting his boring job so he can pursue his dreams of leading a happy life and career that I wanted". Happy?! Being an entrepreneur is no easy task: it's 16 hours workdays, it's creating something new, it's being fully responsible for every mistake. It's not for everyone, if anything it's for very few, it sounds to me you've just indoctrinated them to repeat what you'd said. Careful with what you project on kids: doctors and engineers are safe careers, the unsafe ones should be chosen freely by people who understand the risks involved. Entrepreneurs were seen as losers until a decade ago, now they're all the rage, but it's just another fad. Give them the tools, not the answers.

This video inspired me to create a video about the great resignation. It took me about 6 months to create this on top of my full-time job, setting aside at least 4x of 1 hr workout per week, cooking healthy foods that take hours to prepare, rejecting so many night outs just to spend more time pursuing my passion while having so many people discourage me from creating meaningful videos online like this channel. As you can tell, personal development isn’t a joke because there are so many sacrifices to be made, which are often uncomfortable but knowing that there are also so many like-minded individuals who have passion for becoming a better version of themselves each day and who are willing to show support makes me more motivated to keep pursuing my passion for creativity and intense desire to provide as much value as I could. When I was a kid, all I wanted was to have a career that pays well so I can buy whatever I want but now that I’m grown up and went through tons of setbacks from losing tons of people in my life, getting lost in the world with full of life traps, being ridiculed for pursuing my dreams, having so many people tell me that I’m merely wasting my time creating a meaningful content online, and so on, I can say that long-lasting happiness can’t be bought or earned because it comes from within us

This is my 5th time watching this and I’m ready to tell my wife that one of us has to go out and find something else. Working together is tearing us apart quickly and if we want to continue our marriage we HAVE to do something. Although we have had similar talks, they always end up in a “well if you can’t bring home $xxxx then no” so this time I’m going to offer to shoulder the burden so she can go and find something else. Im really hoping this works, I’m petrified of loosing our relationship but it’s coming up quickly

I stayed too long in a job I didn’t like and then when I moved to a job I thought would be better I assumed that maybe the reason I didn’t quit the first job was because God wanted me to find this second job in tech (I wouldn’t have found it if I had left the company). Flash forward a few unexpected events later….this job is actually worse considering the anxiety and stress I’m going through 😂😂 I think maybe God sent me another rough job to really push me into quitting corporate all together. Because if this one really was better then I would have become complacent. I don’t have the worst job in the world and many would want what I have . But something isn’t sitting right with me and I think I ought to honor that.
