9:58 isn’t a backpack ban btw, for anyone confused- it’s a common practice for spirit weeks to include an “anything but a backpack day” which encourages students to bring their belongings to school in the wildest receptacles possible. I know at my old high school we had kids bringing in old lego set cardboard boxes, microwaves, wheelbarrows, and milk crates- definitely a bit more chaotic in the hallways, but makes for a fun experience!

5:56 - something like that happened at my school, note that majority of the kids in that period, including me, had just had pe the period before and that rooms ac didn't work so it was always hot and stuffy in there, one day in the beginning of class some of the kids decided they wanted to open the window because it was hot, the sub said they could so they did and after they had figured out how to open it and then open it one of them accidentally pushed on it a bit and as he was taking his hand off of it it sliped sideways out of the windowsill, he caught it and got it back in, but the shock on all of our faces when it slipped was hilarious

10:00 oh yea I went to a middle school that banned backpacks because they were a "fire hazard," and was frequently late to classes because I had to stop at my locker between every single class instead of just carrying my things in an efficient manner. Also, the only reason backpacks were considered a fire hazard in the first place is because the school was ridiculously overcrowded (didn't have a particularly large student body but the school was not properly equipped to handle the amount of students that were in it,) so backpacks "took up too much space" and would "get in the way of an evacuation." You'd think they'd prioritize fixing the actual problem, seeing as they absolutely had the budget to do so, but no they just decided to make everyone's day harder instead. If the reasoning in the video was following that same logic I'm willing to bet students intentionally brought much larger containers for school supplies out of spite/to show the staff that if they can't have backpacks, the remaining options are even more of a hazard.
