@Вⷡluͧрⷬiͥᴛⷮeͤrͬ i understand the ideology "you need a mindset thats strong and you wont get anywhere putting yourself down," because regardless, building resilience is very much encouraged, but you are also somebody who has more privileges than others. it does "work" for everybody to get themselves back up again, but while you and i daydream about a world of equal opportunity and live that lie, so many people do indeed have to suffer because of a lie that we believe. we can create a world where "pity parties" are invitations to help somebody out, instead of telling them to bottle up. i hope more people will step up and be big, the world needs bigger people...

Maybe it's the US, or maybe they weren't rich enough, but I went to school with quite a few affluent kids, long story, foreign language private school, tuition subsidised through my mom's work. Anyway wouldn't say my classmates lacked personality, two of them, with the same first name, came from winemaker families, like old school hacienda owners, though at least one of them lost their actual farm land to an agricultural reform at some point in the past, they are buying it back though. Anyway one of them was the nicest guy, like he had teddybear vibes and he would always passionately promote his family's Pisco and gift it to our form teacher at the end of the year. Then again our year was seen as an abnormally friendly year, no scandals and by the end everyone was at least friendly with each other, for context the following year had a sexual assault on their final year class trip and the prior one got the school permanently banned from some country club.

It gets funny when these “rich kids” get exposed when people realize that’s not a mansion that’s a resort.
@MotherGapshin12
@MotherGapshin12 3 жыл бұрын
What's more upsetting is that while these kids are enjoying the high life and not having to worry about a thing, there are probably millions of kids who have to work multiple jobs just to buy one of these rich kids' toys. While these people live in their mansions, there are people who have to live in their cars or in the streets. These kids can get the best and healthiest diets known to man while some suffer from obesity or malnourishment. It really makes you tick when you think about it, the ideology of "Greed is good" is truly thriving.

Exactly. Upper class people are going to surround themselves in other upper class people, and therefore barely even think about the people who need their money. But if some low-class joe gets a bunch of money, they're way more likely to donate it back to the people who need it most.

Is it though? In my mind I've always associated being wealthy with having amply enough money that you can satisfy most reasonable desires, without going into the extravagant. While being *rich* is having so much that you start throwing it away into stuff no one really needs. Like, the difference between owning a Mercedes vs a Lamborghini, owning a nice house vs a 5 billion dollar mansion spanning several square kilometers, going on vacations abroad regularly vs having private jets and multiple vacation homes that cost more than the average person earns in a lifetime.

@@astuteanansi4935 i was curious so i looked up the definitions. wealth is: "an abundance of valuable possessions or money," while rich is: "having a great deal of money or assets; wealthy," so by definition, there is 0 difference. but by how people use them, then there might be a difference, though im not sure.

@@Rebirth._ Welp in terms of the words in the dictionary they mean the same but as you said people do use them differently. In terms of this comment section, rich and wealthy do have a difference, not in terms of what they mean in the dictionary but in terms of what they mean about the person lifestyle. Both rich and wealthy mean the person has a lot of money or valuable possession but in terms of lifestyle they are as different as they get. A person that is rich means a person that spends a lot of money with no forethought about the future like the kids in the video, and this kind of mindset can lead to a person getting to debt and lose everything. And a person that is wealthy means they have a lot of money but they don't use them much instead investing and making sure to create a flow of wealth for their future, so they will never become poor. Which is why you will see on the internet most of the time, people criticizing rich people but not wealthy people cause though both of them have a lot of money, their lifestyle and choices couldn't be any different, one is a straight up self destruction of wealth like buying multiple apple phones and then just destroying them for fun and the other is about getting a job and making a network of a steady flow of wealth to make sure they never become poor, which is pretty obvious which one of the two gathers more respect and which one loses it more. Sorry if my comment is too long but I hope I managed to clear your question about the difference between the two, mate. And if you read my entire comment, Welp I wish you to have a nice pleasant life, mate
