Taking care of yourself is very important, you should never end up abusing yourself physically and mentally. I am an artist myself and I know that art can consume you if you don't engage in self care often enough. I'm quite sure everyone in your community is supportive of your decisions, and I'm glad that you aren't quitting violin, because with your extraordinary gift and skills, you can achieve wonderful things. I like the way you talk here, it's very honest and natural, there's no need to pretend you're happy just to maintain a persona or a brand. Of course, people who are not interested in your authentic feelings are not true fans and you shouldn't care about their opinion. Try meditation to help you figure out solutions to your struggles. You can also try implementing changes you want in your life and using a visual reminder such as (for example) a change in clothing style to remind you to keep your promises to yourself and pursue the new habits you create - I tried this when I was going through difficult times and it worked perfectly. With careful planning and plenty of self care sessions you can do it all.

@@ChloeTrevor Personal growth is important, and you can try some courses or masterclasses in order to figure out your path. I have enrolled in several courses on Udemy and Coursera where you can learn almost anything from top universities, and on Mindvalley for courses about well being, meditation and personal evolution. All of these are very helpful if you are trying to gain control over your life. Perhaps you can try them as well and see how they work for you. I believe that together with therapy they will work wonders on your overall well being.

Dear Chloé, I have never seen such an honest video. I am so touched by your story and I have so much respect for you!! Over the past few months I prayed for you and I see you are becoming a fierce daughter of God. Please keep your eyes upon Him. I am sure He will help you overcome your challenges. You will never stop inspiring me and I will always support you as a violinist, but even more as a person. Lots of love, Ruth

Hi Chloe. My name is Franco and I myself am a violinist and also a pianist. I just want to say this; NEVER GIVE UP! Even in very difficult situations as well as your moms passing, God is always with you and I know he will continue to use you to shine a light in the world through your performances, teaching, camps, etc. You inspire me through your violin playing even tho I struggle sometimes playing very hard pieces. But even you stopped for a bit, NEVER STOP FOR GOOD. I know you will perform again as well as shining a light for God. May god bless you and everything u do. I love you and also proud of you❤️✊🏼 I’ll also pray for you as well as your music revives back.

Chloe, not only are you one of my favorite musicians but you’re one of my favorite people as well. I’ve watched you for years now. That sounds creepy lol but you know what I mean. I’m usually one to comment on KZbin videos but I just needed too because I’ve always looked up to you as a musician and person ever since the first video I saw of you and now I do even more with this decision you have made. I think it’s really brave of you to do this. I am truly sorry for your loss and I’m still praying for you. I think what you’re doing with your life now is a very good and wise decision. I want you to know that there are people out there that will support you no matter what you do. Like you said, even without the violin you’re still a person, you’re still beloved and looked up too. I am truly looking forward to what you decide to do with your videos either it’s related to music or just a life update or questions/answers or discussions, anything. Keep taking care.

It would be super selfish of any of your followers to say ' No you have to keep on what you're doing.' In watching you and following you in Instagram and here on KZbin, I've learnt a lot, I've felt a non-creepy connexion with you because as individuals, you and I share similar issues and concerns. Having said all that, you need to take care of yourself first, then your relationships with William and your family and friends. Your fans should be the least of your concerns. I have been an artist, I am a writer, and I have some mental health issues similar to what you described. It's really hard to maintain a balance between yourself and the rest of the world, and to figure out how much of what you do is you, and how much of it is a job you do for others. Whatever you decfide to to, you have my prayers and full support. Paul Chapman

Yes...so brave to come on here, and just speak about very personal feelings, and situations that have happened in your life. So much of what you said really resonated with me, and with what I am dealing with in life right now, not only as a man who is passionate about my music and violin/viola playing, but w my own mother who is now in nursing home w parkinsons, difficult work situations, middle age...not knowing still where I fit in and where music fits in...just so much I cant explain it here. But as your brother in Christ, I encourage you to keep going on that path of change, and listeneing to your heart, and doing what is needed for YOUR LIFE! ...with much LOVE to you, Chloe!!!!!!!

My foster father passed away in 1978. That hit me pretty hard. Then my foster mother in 2002 but I was a little more prepared. My dad passed away in 2015 and the last interaction (which was the Tuesday before after a golf game with my stepmother and the day before seeing Mom) was something that choked me up for awhile if I would tell the story. Parents had a really nasty divorce; hence the foster parents (also related to my Mom’s current medical condition; she’s bipolar and had been in a rehab center since 2007 when she broke her ankle). I’ve experienced burn out in 2004 juggling between school, work, playing in a band and church duties. My daughter recently got divorced so that was a bit stressful. You can do it! Sometimes you do have to take a break.

Thank you for one of the most memorable evenings of our life . Be Safe Stay Well .

I know how you feel, I just lost my dad back in May after a short and painful battle with stomach cancer. The first month after he passed away, I couldn’t touch my flute and there are some days that I don’t want to play because my dad was an amateur flutist and played other instruments (he was a baker). My first year of grad school was hard because I was homesick and I went through a lot of major life changes ( I moved to different state for grad school, I became an Aunt for a second time, my dad got sick, I got an assistantship and then my dad passed away less than two weeks after I came back to Miami)😊❤️

Hey Chloe, I understand what you meant in your video, life has many different things that can hit you at one time, different times and can make you consider many choices, I also understand about the social media discussion you stated, but as many have stated, take time for yourself, life is very important and as you said God gave you a very important gift and also the ability to inspire others which is a gift in itself but I played guitar for about 13 years and had some things stolen so I became bitter and then lost my cousin Ashley to breast cancer, then almost quit playing completely, I picked up the violin recently because of a heel injury that left me unable to walk but not permanently (I will be able to walk right in a few months) but then I had another person come to me who is also my cousin and wanted to learn guitar and his girlfriend started playing violin!!! So I started playing guitar and violin and you can go a long time and still have talent in that musical field, but I also think that music helps relieve stress levels in us, but at times we do need to say "No, I want to go and see a different place, or No I have things to do or people to spend time with" but I enjoyed watching your video. As I have seen in many answers, find a way to incorporate your faith to help you through hard times, I did when I was an addict and I been sober now for a long time, which really helped me get back in music, I honestly don't understand what it's like to lose one as close as you have but I also lost my granny last year and at one point she was like a mother of mine, but I haven't been a Christian all my years but also if you need a break from social media then go for it!!! I have not only noticed that social media has changed but the entire world because many things are digital now and it is changing the world, I never thought I would be leaving a comment from a phone to help someone who inspires me, but I will stop ranting now but I enjoyed seeing this video and it helped remind me that everyone has their own issues that they have to deal with, but I personally hope you still play every once in a while🕊🌻

I will say this: a decade or more ago, my mom and my brother died in separate times within a month. There was a time when I avoided some of the situations where my brother (especially) would be at because it felt empty without him. Once I began to think that 1) you never miss the people who treated you badly, so if you missed them, they are usually good to you 2) when I started to think of my brother, I thought of the good time and not that he wasn't around 3) that you are never guaranteed anyone that is any good in your life, so when you have good ones, it is a blessing. maybe if you enjoyed being around your mom, and the violin reminds you her, maybe it can be a source of closeness and happy memories instead of a source of loss. Even when the people are gone, the blessing they were to your life remains if you let it shine through the clouds. I hope your life grows in wonderful expected ways. also: this is the first of your videos I have seen, so I don't know if you can even play violin, but as a person, you seem first rate (and that is more important)!

I feel your pain. But this is taking too long. I think you should be objective and sell the house as soon as possible. What could you delegate so it gets done faster? If practicing is like that, maybe you could consider a sabbatical. Staying away may give you some perspective on the real meaning of violin playing for you. Be open for the truth. The new relationship can help a lot for you to move on. Chloe, this is the most important: it's been too long already, you have to live your life, that's what your dear Mom would like you to!
@ChloeTrevor
@ChloeTrevor 4 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's too long - everyone grieves differently and takes different amounts of time. Yes, selling the house as soon as possible and taking a sabbatical would be idea, but I'm in no financial position to do so. I have to continue working to make a living and that combined with trying to take time for myself and my relationships makes it take longer to get the house ready. And the legal things can only move as fast as the court systems will move so a lot of it isn't in my control. This whole video was kind of about getting perspective on the real meaning of playing violin for me after having some time away - I'm sorry that wasn't clear! 😞 Thank you for your comment!
