The lady who sue'd McDonalds actually had a good case, so it's a bad example. It wasn't about the coffee being hot it was about the coffee being absolutely scalding hot way hotter than it ever would need to be to brew or serve. McDonalds actually lost the case pretty clearly and now serves their coffee at sane temperatures just like every coffee shop in existence. That being said their are plenty of examples of frivolous lawsuits.

I'm familiar with the case, and am horrified the woman experienced what she did. Still, after everything, she spilled the coffee. I'm glad, in the sense that things have changed for McDonald's, and their coffee game is better then ever. I hate that this older woman had to be boiled alive. Yet she received what she wanted, changed the "coffee game;" in a sense. I still feel it was factually incorrect to blame the restaurant.

Starbucks/every coffee shop in the world doesn't give you a coffee that is 190 degrees, that would give you serious injuries just drinking normally. Even "hot" coffee from a normal coffee place would just burn you a bit if you drank it right after they handed it to you, this coffee was giving people 3rd degree burns in their throats.

There's more to the McDonalds coffee case. She had 3rd degree burns on her gash because McD kept their coffee like 40 degrees hotter than everyone else. She was something like the 6th person burned that bad, and no one else kept their coffee that hot because they knew, uh, it would burn people. McD knew but kept the heat up to sell more coffee.

Haha Quzziy as an ex TSA officer I have to say you definitely dodged a bullet, pay was good but hit you with a 2yr probation period after training!! I honestly don’t know any other job with a 2yr probation period..Them 2 yrs was STRESSFUL I was to afraid to even call off for anything! Then every year there’s a nerve wrecking certification test and if you happen to be a dual certified officer (baggage cargo and check point) the tests are even more stressful.

What the fire fighters could have done to prevent Clyde's mom from dying they could have removed the toilet seat. If not then the last ditch move that might have saved her life could have been to literally smash the toilet with sledgehammers while also having two firefighters each one holding the arms of Clyde's mom so that the moment the toilet broke she would not fall and would be able to stand with minor cuts that could be treated that would result in her surviving that near death experience.

A definite lack of common sense was when a lady had a wet dog from walking it in heavy rain. She thought she could dry it in the microwave and it died.
