The meaning of the word used here does not mean tap or beat or cause injury. Arabic is a complex language and the word from its root can take several roads. Here it means to go on a strike, that is distance yourself from her until the problem is solved . Not to go strike her and make violence out of it. This is one meaning I got Another one is that, the term fits to the extreme case of infidelity. That is when the man is going crazy about his wife cheating on him. There too a man cannot cause harm. It goes like gently in a way to correct her . There are Hadith which says a man should never hit his wife or even cause discolouration of the skin !

I'm an ex-Muslim and there are even worse verses of the Quran and Hadiths. As far as 4:34 goes, No where in the Quran is there a verse telling a wife how to punish her husband. Many examples of women being treated as inferior in the Quran, Hadiths and the Bible for that matter

This Verse is very false.. It means on Arabic Wadribuhunne and this word you can find 54 Times in Quran and nowhere you can find smth about beating with this word. Its just a false translation

@@OmarAbdelghany33 difference between quran and the bible is that quran you need to understand arabic to understand it’s proper interpretations, as for the bible, it doesn’t matter what language you translate it in, It still says and means one thing and one thing only, that Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose 3 days later☺️

She says that the word "charge of women" is already bad. But has she even looked up the meaning of "charge"? It's important to understand that the Quran is a religion of nature and it has clearly explained the nature of inequalities. Inequality is inevitable and everyone knows that biologically, communities, warfare, and society. The Quran says to embrace this nature, but understand the importance of fairness. Only then there will be peace. So what does charge really mean now according to a normal dictionary on google of what the Quran says? - - Demand (an amount) as a price for a service rendered or goods supplied.🤦♂ - Formally accuse (someone) of something, especially an offence under law.🤦♂ - Entrust (someone) with a task as a duty or responsibility. 🤦♂ -Responsibility for the care or control of someone or something... --A person or thing entrusted to the care of someone✅ --A responsibility or duty assigned to someone. (marital responsibility)✅ --An official instruction, especially one given by a judge to a jury regarding points of law🤦♂ So don't let this person easily persuade you that Islam is bad. She has obviously misunderstood the language. To understand any religion, you have to always be taught by a religious teacher as they have studied the historical context and interpretations. I wonder what Arabic dictionary says about the meaning of "charge" as well? 🙄 (literally the same thing)

Agree with you, but please also understand, its not that easy for millions of us, the revenge and retribution can result in death. Are you saying we should accept either 1. death or 2. shut up and not complain. What kind of choices are these?

Billy b when the ayah came down to the prophet, people were confused and asked him about it. The prophet said u must not hit her on any sensitive part of her body, u can not leave a mark, if she feels any type of pain, then it’s a sin. So that leaves the men thinking so what can we do? And the answer is basically nothing. What type of beating is that? If she feels pain then it’s a sin. There is ur answer, people who interpret this incorrectly do not read the the authentic quotes of the prophet, and that is incorrect, Muslims must listen to what the prophet said.

@@rakanx2710 well that's a pretty dumb explanation and seema like a waste of realistate in the one true message from God. Also I've seen to many women in bags being beaten with sticks online to believe that.

Billy b the explanation is perfect, u can not only read the Quran because there is sometimes context in the same Surah or the context is from the prophet, Muslims can not only read the Quran, they must also read hadiths from the prophet. If Muslims didn’t read hadiths from the prophet then we wouldn’t even know how to pray. U need to be a little open minded and try to understand what I’m trying to say.
