‘Those Who Wage War And Make Mischief’ - Quran 5:33
Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment

So if this verse in the Quran(5:33) was made towards criminals, why include the word Allah into the verse?. Seems like a civil matter and not a holy one at that, wouldn't a clearer rephrasing of the verse be: "Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against innocent people and strive upon...." would give a clearer understanding. But if having a deep knowledge of the Quran is the only way to understand these verses, then that shows that an all-powerful and all-knowing God couldn't convey a simple message that he knowingly knew would get misunderstood. These issues are not only limited to the Quran but to the bible and other holy books

In that case, the verse is not only aimed towards criminals (as the video tried to argue), but specifically non-believers such as atheists and apostates. It would be easy to consider them criminals under Islam, since there is no separation between state and religion.
