Jesus Christ said - For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. Sadly, so many people reject the will of God.

An interesting thing that many Christians rarely ever consider is that by the early 4th century, the alleged "divinity" of Jesus STILL hadn't been determined by consensus of the many early churches, and the topic of whether or not he was the ACTUAL son of God (or even the human incarnation of God) was hotly debated in these councils. I believe it was also in these councils also that the baffling concept of a Holy Trinity was first floated. As someone who was raised as a Roman Catholic, I was quite stunned by the seeming ignorance of many of my fellow Christians about their church's origins. From watching the 1970s movie "Al-Risālah" I remember the recitation of Sūrah 19 to the Abyssinian king, in an appeal for asylum.
@innocentodinkemere45977 ай бұрын
While you were growing up a Roman Catholic, did you actually read the Bible? From the last count, the NT was canonized by AD 200, and as early as AD 100 the Epistles were widely read. So the sonship and divinity of Jesus is actually in the Bible.

(If Jesus was just a prophet why would he say this?} John 8:59-59 58 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” 59 So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple. (The statement speaks for itself, the Jews knew exactly what he was claiming (that he was GOD and tried to stone him). Revelations 1:17-18 17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I AM THE FIRST AND THE LAST. 18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! The Muslim version of Jesus has several difficulties associated with it: 1. It ignores many of the thousand year old prophecies about the Messiah. The Messiah, the anointed one of Yahweh, was to be the Son of David, born to a line of kings, to reign not only over Israel but also over all nations and peoples forever. 2 Samuel 7, Psalm 2, Isaiah 9, Daniel 7. 2. Who is the Spirit of God? Is it God himself, Gabriel, or Jesus? The Spirit of God came upon Mary and she conceived. So who is the father of Jesus? Is it God, Gabriel, or Jesus himself? Who is the Spirit of God? 3. Islamic Isa is a failure of the highest degree, because he failed to preserve his message. Why is Allah the best of deceivers, fooling everyone into believing that Jesus was crucified, instead of showing the world that he would protect his messenger from getting killed? Why the deception?
@Resilient75011 ай бұрын
@peterhwang352 First, there are no prophecies about Jesus in the Hebrew Bible, see Rabbi Tovia Singer's videos on Psalm 2, Isaiah 9, and Daniel 7, and also Thomas Paine's' article Examination of the Prophecies. The book Helping Jesus Fulfill Prophecy by Robert Miller refutes all the prophecy claims. Second, the Quran nowhere says the angel Gabriel "came upon" Mary, the Quran says Gabriel promised that God would create a child in her womb. There is no mention of "coming upon" Mary: She said, "My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?" [The angel] said, "Such is Allah ; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is. 3:47 He said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.' " 19:21 It is only the Bible that uses the graphic term "came upon" or "overshadow" (Luke 1:35) Ehrman comments on this verse: I call this description “graphic” because there is nothing in it to make the reader think that the angel is speaking in metaphors. In a very physical sense the Holy Spirit of God is to “come upon” Mary and “therefore” - an important word here - the child she bears will be called the Son of God. (How Jesus Became God, by Bart Ehrman) Jesus had no father, it wasn't God, angel Gabriel, or any entity. Jesus is the Servant of God and the son of Mary, he came into existence through God's word. God simply said "Be!" and Jesus was created in the womb of Mary. It is the Bible that uses graphic language in Luke 1:35. Significantly, in the very Psalms quoted in the New Testament, there is a promise that the Messiah will not die: 3The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow.4Then I called on the name of the Lord: “Lord, save me!” 5The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. 6The Lord protects the unwary; when I was brought low, he saved me. 7Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. 8For you, Lord, have delivered me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, 9that I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living. Psalms 116:3-9, referenced in 2 Corinthians 4:13 17I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done. 18The Lord has chastened me severely, but he has not given me over to death. Psalms 118:17-18, referenced in Hebrews 13:6 Now this I know: The LORD gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand. Psalm 20:6 The Hebrew Bible makes it clear that the Messiah will be protected from death. The Quran 3:54 says the enemies of Jesus planned to crucify him, but God in turn planned against the enemies by protecting Jesus' life on the cross. God saving his own prophet from death is not deception, the word makr in 3:54 doesn't mean to deceive, it means to plot and plan. There is nothing wrong with God plotting against the enemies of his prophet. The intention of God was to save Jesus from death, not to fool anyone, your claim is difficult because Christians have no writings from the Disciples' own hands to know what they believed, or from anyone who witnessed the event. They just have four anonymous gospels written decades later in a different language, far away from the places Jesus walked. The gospels don't claim to be inspired. None of them are written by eyewitnesses or claim to be. In Mark 15:44, the Pilate was surprised that Jesus had "died" so soon, he marveled because it takes longer than six hours to die from a scourged crucifixion. Raymond Brown in his commentary on John said the spear thrust is not historical, it was invented by John to counter people who said Jesus did not actually die. But even if its historical, the Romans initially doubted that Jesus was really dead, hence the need to pierce him. In John, even after the Romans "saw" that he was "dead already" they pierced him anyway , which wouldn't be necessary if they believed he was already dead (John 19:32-34). And the fact that Jesus' legs were not broken is another indication that he was not really dead, because brea king the legs leads to death, but he was spared this. The Pilate's marvel, the invention of spear thrust, and legs not broken all form a strong argument that Jesus was not dead. The Pilate marveled because according to his experience, it takes much longer than six hours to die from crucifixion.

@@peterhwang352 The verse 66:12 means the angel Gabriel breathed the soul of Jesus into the opening of Mary's garments, not directly into her private parts. Here I quote renowned classical and medieval commentaries on 66:12, not modern tafsirs: The eminent Imam Ibn Jarir At-Tabari states in his commentary known as “Jami’-ul-Bayan”, Allah Whose remembrance is exalted says “And Mary the daughter of ‘Imran, who guarded her farj” He means: who protected the opening of her garment from Gabriel (peace be upon him); any opening or tear in the garment is called farj, as well any crack in a wall, or a window in a roof is a farj. His saying “and We breathed into it of Our spirit” He means: We breathed into it i.e., into the opening of her garment; this is her farj. From Our Spirit i.e., from Gabriel; he is the Spirit. Exegetes have given similar statements; Ibn ‘Abdul-A’la said: Ibn Thawr said on authority of Mu’ammer on authority of Qatada that“and We breathed into it of Our spirit” means We breathed into the opening of her garment from our spirit. (At-Tabari, Jami’-ul-Bayan, Volume 28, page 192) Imam Al-Qurtubi in “Al-Gami’ le Ahkam-el-Qur’an” states, “who guarded her farj” - from lewdness. Commentators say the faarj is intended to mean the opening of the garment because He says “We breathed into it of Our spirit”; Gabriel (peace be upon him) breathed but into the opening of her garment and did not breathe into her private part. In the recitation of Ubai “We breathed into the opening of her garment of Our Spirit”. Every opening in the dress is called farj like His saying“and there are no flaws (furooj sing. farj) in it?” (Holy Qur’an 50:6). It is probable that she guarded her private part and he breathed into the opening of her garment. (Al-Qurtubi, Al-Gami’ le Ahkam-el-Qur’an, Volume 28, pages 203-204) Imam Ibn Kathir in “Tafsir-ul-Qur’an Al-‘Azeem” states, “And Mary the daughter of ‘Imran, who guarded her farj” i.e., protected and purified it; guarding (ihsan) is chastity and absence of immorality. “We breathed into it from Our spirit” - by the Archangel Gabriel for God the Most High sent him to her, so he shaped in the form of a man. God the Most High commanded him to breathe with his mouth into the opening of her garment, the breath then descended and entered through her private part, and she conceived Jesus (peace be upon him). (Ibn Kathir, Tafsir-ul-Qur’an Al-‘Azeem, Volume 8, page 92) As-Samarqandi in “Bahr-ul-‘Uloum” states, “who guarded her farj” means who purified herself from lewdness. "We breathed into it from Our spirit" means We sent (Angel) Gabriel (peace be upon him) so he breathed into the opening of her garment. Al-Mawardi in “An-Nukat wa Al-‘Uyoun” states, “And Mary the daughter of Imran, who guarded her farj” commentators state that the farj is intended to mean the opening (of the garment) for He says "We breathed into it from Our spirit"; and Gabriel breathed but into the opening of her garment. Al-Baghwi in “Ma’alem-ut-Tanzil” states, “And Mary the daughter of ‘Imran, who guarded her farj; and We breathed into it of Our spirit” - into the opening of her garment. Al-Galalan Al-Mahalli and As-Suyuti state, “And Mary the daughter of Imran, who guarded her farj” - protected it.“We breathed into it from Our spirit” - it is Gabriel when he breathed into the opening of her garment what God the Exalted had created, so it reached her private part and she conceived Jesus. (Al-Mahalli and As-Suyuti, Tafsir-ul-Galalin, page 543) Ash-Shawkani in “Fath-ul-Qadir” states, “who guarded her farj” from lewdness, its exegesis has been mentioned in Surat-un-Nisaa. Commentators state that the farj is intended to mean the opening of the garment for His saying “We breathed into it from Our spirit”; Gabriel breathed but into the opening of her garment and she conceived Jesus. (Ash-Shawkani, Fath-ul-Qadir, Volume 5, page 340)

As usual. DrShabir as all Muslim, acknowledge jesus as a prophet but deny his divinity. Jesus is the coming savior the prophets spoke of in the Old Testament… but as usual, the Muslim will stay the corruption of bible.. incredible how far length Muslims will alway deny. Being resurrected makes him far superior than your prophet who died and remained dead.

Brother, you must not be familiar with Christian doctrine about saving humanity with His death. Literally the reason he was came into the world lol. Muslims trust what a man 500 years later said about him, not very reliable.
