Arabic language , tens of Islamic : ideology , philosophy, science , shareaa.... many subjects and departments, hadith Sharif .... many departments , recruiting Quran all 10 recreating ways and its very difficult way , . accounting and Islamic Economy system Faculty. & 3 faculties : of 1- medicine & 2- pharmacy & 3- nurse . & faculty of science all type of engineering , mathematic geology topics to nuclear . so basically any studies you name it , add to that Quran study ( is a must )

I would have been interesting to talk about the Al-Azhar's placement under Egypt governement since the modern era. Ahadith prevent us to confuse the role of imams with the proximity (and so the corruption) with the political leaders. Today the president imam of Al-Azhar is also a minister in one of the most dictatorial and pro-US & zionist regime in the Muslim world. We cannot work against misunderstandings of basic knowledges of Islam by dumb & violent litteralists without seeing that the historical classical locations of knowledge have lost credibility of the mostly poor & molested Muslim youth when our so-called religious models are eating good with the corrupt leaders (Pakistan, Syria, Egypt, Morroco, Tunisia, ...).

This Sheikh is clearly biased. Al azhar was Al Zehra which was chnaged as Al Azhar later by anti Ahlebait rulers. The Fatimits established a caliphate not were a simple ruler of Egypt. Fatimid Caliphs were Imams of Ismaili Shia as well. They were tolerant and promoted harmony among sects and respected difference of beilfs thats why the population of Egyt remained sunni as the Fatmi Caliphs never tried to force them to convert. The sheikh should have talked about that as well

The shaykh is right about extremism and the status of scholars and institutions. But these institutions are partly to blame for not being respected, as some of their leaders are corrupt and support regimes, thus providing fertile ground for extremists. If the father of the family behaves dishonorably and badly, it is no wonder that he is not respected.

Barelvi's and deobandi's are belongs to subcontinent, both follow HANAFI FIQAH, some of them come to AL AZHAR for higher Islamic learning, so remember AL AZHAR is oldest and higher Islamic learning centre in the world.
