Let the Quran Speak

Let the Quran Speak

4 жыл бұрын

The Quran was revealed more than fourteen hundred years ago. Long before cellphones and social media changed the way people consume the written word. Imam Wisam Sharieff leads QuranRevolution and has taught over twenty-five thousand students over the last twenty years. He joins Safiyyah Ally to offer advice about how we can fall in love with the Quran in an age of technology and distraction. This interview was produced with the support of Human Concern International.

For me a good way is to keep memorizing. Little by little. I am doing now An-Nur 35. Every week I add a sentence, and I use it in my prayers. So I recite parts oy Ayahs, every week a line more, until I memorize the whole Ayah. Then, I select another Ayah or a short Surah. And it goes on like this until Allah SWT decrees my end in this dunya, and I will be glad to report to Him on Qiyama how I treated His revelation. Subahan Allah, rabbi-l 'Aalameen!

Salam : ) To fall in love with Quran we only have to try to understand it. It might seem hard but with time we end up discovering more and more meaning in it. It’s truly a divine book that is full of wisdom a book that teaches us how to be and how to treat others, it has stories of people to remind us that God knows our lives and is with us wherever we are. I would say the Quran heals us by reminding us how close is God to us even though we don’t see him.

Maruf Hossain Salam, yes it is beautiful. But one needs to try to understand what God had to say no? You are wrong saying it doesn’t make a difference because God wants you to contemplate the verses which means the meaning. Do you try to understand the words of God?

I didn't mean meanings are not required, I mean even if we don't know the meanings we feel so fulfilling by its words n rhymes, knowing meanings is definitely help much understanding the Holy Quran but just literal meanings may not be enough, to know the right n appropriate meanings n the context the Ayet is given is important otherwise the purpose may not serve Either way knowing meanings is definitely helpful understanding the Philosophy the Holy Quran wants us to know

Maruf Hossain “And among them are unlettered ones who do not know the Scripture except in wishful thinking, but they are only assuming.” Bakara verse 78... As you can see to know the scripture you need to know the meanings not establish your beliefs on doubt and that is completely in accordance with logic. As for the context and other details I don’t think they are a must. The message of God is universal and not linked to time or place. The question is: Did we try to really understand the Quran? Peace to you :))

I agree people need to read the Quran and follow it. It is Gods word, I feel people follow the sanah instead of what the Quran says. The Quran should supersede anything from the sunas and the Hadith.

‎السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته I love Br Wisaam however considering the question he was asked and the title of the video I disagree with his answer, yes he is correct In what he said to some extent... However His answer is too focused around melody and tajweed. You can’t love something you don’t know. Progressively, if a person studied tawheed, aqeedah to actually know Allah through his names and attributes, this would increase in emaan and taqwa and hope and fear of hereafter which would consequently lead to opening allahs book of guidance, secondly if a person studied the seerah pf the prophet صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ and realised how Quran was revealed piecemeal, distinguishing between Makkan and Madini Quran, the differences and why, maybe study the book by As-Suyuti called “gateway to Quran sciences” this would give a person a solid foundation And a familiarisation and acquaintance with Quran. In addition if a person learnt some hadith on virtues of Quran and its recitation and its rewards and recited it with translation as if Allah is speaking to you personally, this will give you a personal relationship with the book of Allah. Wisaam isn’t “wrong” with his answer, however he could’ve answered it from a deeper perspective rather than focusing on melody and sounds. Likewise you see ppl mesmerised by a reciters voice at times yet little do they know the reciter is reciting ayat lf punishment which technically should move the heart to cry but because some ppl focus so much on melody they miss the context. Allah knows best. السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
@watvid1
@watvid1 3 жыл бұрын
As he said, he is giving an abnormal answer. Everything you said is correct and everyone knows that already. He's giving another perspective to it which may help people to start, once they have a routine, they can dig deeper. It's not a race to finish first, step by step

Imagine you get a letter from the CEO of the company where you work (or the principal of a school if you're studying). The message is in a foreign language. What's the first thing that you would do? a. Listen to its audio recitation without understanding what it says b. Read a translation and study the message. If the Quran is a message from God to humankind, what do you think makes more sense? Memorizing the book or reading the entire book and following what it says?
@ZAIMtheman
@ZAIMtheman 4 жыл бұрын
But the Quran is different. For the message from the CEO there's absolutely no benefit at all in trying to memorize his letter whether you understand it or not, but Quran is THE WORDS OF ALLAH! There's reward for every EVERY SINGLE LETTER that you recite. Memorizing it elevates your status in front of Allah. Of course if you talk about what's more important, then I'd say it's to understand and follow the Quran. However please do not belittle those who memorize when Allah made it very clear how important that it.

The different beliefs between Christian denominations then I started to get involved with conferences I meant a good professor from Egypt with he passed away, he was a Muslim and I was under his belt. He also begin to explain to me the different set of Islam. He gave tremendous lectures inside the Mosques. Then I started learning about Judaism I wanted to ground myself in all three religions I still today I study and study and study and I begin to see why so many questions even their own religion. I think when it comes to the Bible and the Quran we can all learn. and when I say all three religions I'm referring to why does Islam have different ideology in their Muslim gree with certain things and some muslims doesn't. just like when I look at Christianity I can see why there's so many beliefs I had to go back into history Centre the goal to see why people believe what they believe today so I'm starting to do the same thing with Islam and Judaism
