QWER | "Fake Idol" MV Reaction

QWER intended to shoot the gap between kpop and jrock. But they are a growth band starting with 2 famous Twitch Streamers, 1 Famous Tiktoker, and a former Japanese Idol. They started as a result of a youtube content project and blew up into what they are now(they just won KGMA award for best band 2024). During the initial youtube content creation, they wanted to recreate the feel of the idols from the anime Oshinoko and openly declared as such. Because of this and many other reasons including sudden popularity, they are considered idol band now. This MV was their response to many who posted negative, some heinous, comments through forums and youtube comments including calling them faking performances despite dozens of live festival performances. QWER has taken to prove themselves by live performances(they are a-listers for college festivals numbering around 40 this year alone plus other festivals). This MV is sorta like that leading into their 2nd mini album. This MV lyric is a declaration that no matter what people say, QWER will win them over. No need to worry about them, though. Their music is ubiquitous. They won almost everyone over. Thanks for the reaction.

I haven't been able to confirm it, but honestly i don't care to try and dig into it, but one channel said they are getting hate for 2 things - one is their unconventional route into kpop (and if I'm feeling jaded, that they are adults,) and second, a couple of them are getting hate from when they were youtubers - both that they were catering to the male gaze and one of them made a very anti- feminist remark. I don't know enough about them to be able to confirm or deny any of it, but i do think they make great music. I'd guess Soyeon likes it because of the anime inspiration, and she has always been a big supporter of other women in the industry.
