Andrea's remarkable musicianship has earned multiple thousands of praiseworthy comments for her videos and recordings. I've yet to see a comment praising yet another talent. She is a charismatic and enthusiastic leader of her bands, which is a rarity in jazz circles through the years. And partly why she has a huge following.

That, my friend is Andrea Motis, the curently most known/successful student of joan chamorro, who is director and teacher of the sant andreu jazz band out of barcelona spain. I think her first album was when she was presented in 2009 or so, she has wonderfull concert like this like the one in the jamboree in 2013 (i recomend you search one song thay was played here:: summertime) and anthoer great show was in 2011 at the Palau de la música, and for that one the one song that is underrated in my opinion is " feeling good" // "solitude" is her most pppular one of that session/concert, so you may find that one first lol (but it still is a great introduction to her previous work as a performer and musician And really, if you look up Joan Chamorro on youtube, you will also find other great songs not only from her but also the whole Sant Andreu Jazz Band and its great girls like Rita Payes, Alba Armengou, Elia Bastida just to name a few Even if you look at just the most popular videos that pop up on the channel, you are sure to be hooked 😅😅 i was just from finding Rita's "so danco samba" lol😂😂

Andrea is one of the great talents that Joan Chamorro has made grow, perhaps the greatest of them (without detracting from other great artists who have grown up under his influence). But I have a weakness for Andrea as she was the first one I "discovered" from this inexhaustible source of music that is Joan Chamorro's Sant Andreu Jazz Band.

Andrea, I have watched you since you were a very young lady until now. And here you are, a mom, a great singer and trumpeter. I'm sure you have given credit to your teachers (Joan, and others) and fellow professionals who play so beautifully as well. Love the Saint Andrea school and music very much. Thank you and all the other others through the years. Love listening to you all in any setting, including big band, orchestra, small groups, etc. I assure you I am a BIG fan!

I have enjoyed the guitarist's supportive style. So good. The pianists is amazing. Thank you for keeping rhis tradition of Jazz alive and still here. Andrea hits all great tones with her voice and on horn. This was a good night.

I wonder how Mr. Traver taught his fingers to dance so gracefully across his guitar strings! Mr. Pi's drumming is among the best over many decades. Mr. Chamorro is The Master of masters on bass. Mr. Terraza is one w/ his piano, truly united. As for Ms. Motis, I'm speechless.

Really? I guess you've never heard Oscar Petersen or Herbie Hancock or McCoy Tyner or Dave Brubeck or Wynton Kelly or Horace Silver. I could easily name a dozen more. The problem with this pianist, is he has no style, no taste. His solos are very pedestrian. He hits the right keys to make it sound like jazz, but that's the problem, so can a thousand other players. Hitting the right keys doesn't make you a great jazz pianist, it makes you a great typist. I can listen to any of the pianists that I named and instantaneously identify who it is. I don't think you can say the same about this pianist.
