I honestly can't tell if some of these replies are actually serious or not, but maybe he's just a homeless man who isn't conspiring to commit crime? Being homeless doesn't automatically make you a shitty person with a criminal record or looking to build one. Sometimes people just don't have a place to live, it happens, and it isn't always as easy as "get a job." Even McDonald's requires proof of residence to work there and you can't exactly have proof of residence if you're homeless. Maybe he helped the cops because, and this is just a wild guess, maybe the guy robbed a bank or something?

No one knew the age, gender, race, weight, height nothing of the informant. You really don't know that they have the police put the guy up in hotels during the trial? It's kinda funny that I went from "I hope he doesn't get caught!" like I'm watching a story character from GTA V, to "Oh wait he actually reformed himself" when he totally turned his life around, and I then realized that that's actually the thing I should've been rooting for.

The part about the creek makes total sense. At my family's lake cabin, one year the water was particularly low (2019 I believe), so we needed to dig out a channel for the little boat to get out, and it took like 8 hours to dig 6 inches down for like 5 feet. There is absolutely no way he would have done his plan with a jet ski
@ChakkyCharizard Жыл бұрын
The creek mentioned here actually runs through the woods behind my parents' backyard...Woods Creek is a TINY, pathetic little thing. It's barely even a creek, more like a ditch, in some parts. You have no idea how hard I laughed imagining someone trying to jetski on it lmao

I can say as a former heroin addict that once you invest all your troubles and internal issues into drugs it becomes your life. It feels like you have almost no control and your actions are forced into getting it at any cost.(for the most part) it takes something serious (like going into jail or near death) to open your eyes. Once i got sober you look back and cannot recognize your former self. You discover your true self. What an amazing story he has

I worked in a bank in the early to mid 00s and I know it's changed but back then I always thought if people knew how easy it was to rob a bank it would happen way more often. I'm 4' 7" with one working arm. At the time my manager was a 65 yr old woman who likely weighed 90lbs. We would get $55,000 into these cartridges and take them to the ATM by ourselves to fill. 3 carts each. Someone could have so easily grabbed them especially since the bank and ATM were in a busy grocery store.
@stevenschnepp576 Жыл бұрын
It's not that we don't think it would be hard to do. It's just that we don't want to get caught.
@LilAnnThrax Жыл бұрын
@@stevenschnepp576 oh I meant the not getting caught part, too. First to be clear I do not condone bank robbery and I hope everyone gets caught if they do something like that. But I live in a small city and have heard of a multitude of robberies, with pictures of the robber's faces from cctv and none of them have been caught. There are places where getting caught is much more likely, of course, but that's part of committing a "good" crime - doing it in the right area.
@ikillstupidcomments Жыл бұрын
@@LilAnnThrax It's because these days the potential take and the likelihood of getting away with it are both much lower than they used to be. Rob a bank in 1905 and you would probably get away clean with enough money to make a life. Rob a bank in 2025 and you'd better spend those couple thousand dollars fast before the feds get you. Real money is in white-collar crime and drugs.

Regarding the "civic minded hobo" (freaking great description, btw 👍😆 ) : A guy i know who lives in a sketchy area near the beach in Southern California. Somehow, he discovered that the homeless in that area were really, in their own way, part of the neighborhood community, and they definitely had their own sense of community, watching each-others backs and what not. When you have nothing and nowhere of your own, it's a good idea to stay on everyone's good side, and the guy found that some of the homeless could be counted on to tell he and the other folks in his building if anyone had been trying to break into cars in their parking lot and things of that nature.

That homeless man’s story is not weird. Sometimes people are just paranoid like that. Whenever I see a kid gently pushed into a car, as opposed to just opening the doors and stepping in on their own like how their parents would let them do, I always write down the plate. Nothing’s come up, but it was nobody’s loss anyway.

I know way too many people that didn’t survive opiate addiction. Honestly wish I hadn’t either. All of my family gone. Yep… Every single one of them.
