The North Koreans have the USS Pueblo on display as a museum in Pyongyang Harbor. I saw a video of the tour and it clearly showed more than 1 R390.

I am an old ditty bopper/hog and would like to have an R390 also. Morse code was sparking some memories. Great radio. This one really looks clean and working well.

BTW 10 are still in operation in a monitoring site. (They are tuned to 10 specific frequencies) They were built by some company called Fowler Electronics. They are the last operating units left.

I'd love to get my hands on an R390A radio in good condition. Is anyone out there listening? An old ditty bopper!

Amazing radio for its time. The R-390s have recently been surpassed by the 16bit SDR's

VIDEOSUPERHIGHWAY... I love the 390 but there are quite a few better receivers built 1970- pre SDR period. Drake, JRC, ICOM and Yeasu have producef fine products.

Owning a 390a was a big dream for me, but the logistics involved is a nightmare

I believe that this radio is better than Hammarlund SP-600...

+João Damasceno Much better. No comparison.
@robertfallin97337 жыл бұрын
João Damasceno ...ive used both the 600 and 390. my choice by far is the 390. The time was during a particularly bad sunspot cycle (1966-67) and the 390 was by far a better adverse conditions receiver. Too bad we had a severe shortage if Radiomen & 390's, othetwise maybe 34 men on the Liberty would be alive today. You had to be there.
