True hip-hop lyricists aren't traditional industry guys with a few exceptions to the rule. What they did for the rappers who are pop artists is to blur the lines by making them play the character that they rap about in their music in real life as well. That's why it's hard to believe that these pop artist rappers have a team of people with them writing songs.
