“Mowing the lawn is a man’s job” 😂. What a flippin’ entitled princess! My mother is in her 60’s and she still mows her lawn with both a rider and a push mower. My husband works six days a week so “I” mow what amounts to a city block of land on our property about once a week depending on growth rate. That includes the trim mowing with a push mower. And yes, you can do this in manicured long nails like I do, Princess. Is it dirty? Yes. Hot? Yes. Are you too special to have to do that? Nope. In this day and age of equality and women’s rights-why should men have to do everything hard to do? Why is it always on them? Hell, my neighbor is the mayor and a state police officer, and his petite cute little stylish wife with great clothes and perfectly cut/styled/highlighted hair goes out and mows their yard. Granted, she’s got a big powerful riding lawn mower that makes short work of it-but hey she does it herself every week. If we can do it, you can do it. Suck it up, buttercup 😉
@brigidtheirish

Exactly! Dad's disabled, so mowing fell to Mom, my sisters, and me until my little brother was old enough. Usually required two or three of us just to get that wretched thing started and often had to do it in shifts because of how big our yard was, but he managed. An old man in our neighborhood often mowed for us, too. He did it for several folks in the neighborhood, since there were quite a few elderly folks and he had a riding mower, but he said he did it specifically for us because it didn't seem right seeing girls out mowing all summer. We appreciated the help, but I think it stung at Dad's pride a bit. He's got kind of a love-hate relationship with his disability centered around comedic potential and some *deep* seeded insecurities.

And honestly it it beyond ballsy for the brother to say "you're kicking us when we're down". Uh honey no, reevaluate that entire statement and just how easy you all have it. @@streamerssaymyname i was raised on horror movies like Jaws, and Tremors from the age of 3, but the thing is that my mom ALWAYS watched the behind the scenes making of the movie part first that was almost always included on dvd movies back then. She told me the fake blood was ketchup, and explained how everything was made. She even stopped the movies when i started to get scared at all and reminded me that it was all make believe and reminded me how they did all that stuff. Now im not a fan of jaws, but thats because i find it boring, im just not a big fan of it. But i absolutely love horror movies now, especially paranormal ones. Letting young kids watch horror movies is fine, but not stuff like childs play thats rated for adults, thats just ridiculous, and you gotta explain to them how things were made/done and remind them throughout the movie, and pause it when they need a break.

I for one always wanted to help out chairs and stuff up after church events but was turned away because I would be denying the men their duties, and as a woman I was supposed to be chatting with friends. Lol, I was 15 in the 2000s in a small town and had no friends to talk to, and I was not going to chit chat with useless old ladies complaining and gossiping when that was exactly what the scriptures told us not to do, enabling hypocrits. But they felt the men did their duties so the women should do theirs... but then failed to give women duties beyond "bring the food". Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a small head moving down below the arm of the couch. I nearly ran out of the room before hearing him giggling. After that he watched shows with me. Neither of my children were banned from watching horror movies because we discussed real from fake. They only shows they were not allowed to watch when really young were psychological thrillers that were based on real events, or realistically plausible. Those types terrify me to this day. Shit was werid and lasted for abouth a month?? Like I was crying all the fckn time for a month XD. I'm not sayng it was trauma but it was werid and left an impact, so I think OP could very well hurt the child, after all, children brains can take way less than adult ones. Secondly, his own greed tripped him up. 4 mil is *plenty,* but he decided to try to steal your share too. If that isn't enough evidence for "family," he KNEW about the rules. It's stated on the first damn page of the will, and it was reiterated to both of you multiple times. He was warned not to stick his hand on the stove. He did it anyway. Now he has to deal with being burned. If your family continues to give you shit, tell them a) he must not have wanted an inheritance cause he voluntarily forfeited his share, b) he won't be struggling due to YOUR selfishness, but actually his own, c) they are welcome to finance brother's lifestyle, and d) that you will be cutting anyone off that doesn't remove their nose from your business immediately. If necessary, follow through with a cease and desist for harassment from your lawyer. Sounds like your entire family needs a healthy lesson in actions having consequences. Story 3: NTA. I don't get the YTA votes for story 5, or why watching "inappropriate" movies in the common area is wrong. The majority of the household members, excluding the mother since she wasn't there, wanted to watch a movie together, including the 9 year old. Why should the majority of the household have to displace themselves to watch a horror movie in private spaces to accommodate one person? Does this not also breed entitlement? And also, from the sounds of it, OP didn't actually force his daughter to watch the movie, he just told her that if she wanted to watch it with them, then she had to stay for it. It's not like OP held her hands to her side so she couldn't cover her eyes. If she really didn't want to be there, she could have just gotten up and left and I'm sure OP would have let her. I grew up in a household that had no restrictions on what I watched. Of course, there were certain scenes I was told to close my eyes for, but other than that, if I wanted to watch what everyone else was watching, I was more than welcome to, and if I couldn't handle it, I was more than welcome to go back to my room and play there. This is how I learned what movies were and were not for me. I had watched plenty of horror movies before the age of 9 and wasn't traumatized, so the 9 year old will be fine. She'll most likely get over her fear of dolls within the month. I think that this was a good teaching moment for the kid. It taught her that maybe you shouldn't always get what you want and it'll teach her to think twice before demanding to be included in something that is not "appropriate" for her. Or maybe it awakened her love for horror movies.

Ok, disabled seating. I have vasovagle syncope, compressed disk in my back, and arthritis in my hip. the back and hip alone, are enough to keep me seated, and i've passed on busses that were to crowded so i couldn't sit. but the kicker is the Syncope events. with these my blood pressure will drop to 58 over 47... oh yes, the staff at the pharmacy and the ambulance staff BOTH took my blood pressure, and had no idea how i was still conscious... in my defense, i had bad tunnel vision, and was laying on the floor... BUT still mostly conscious. If i'm feeling one of these events coming on, dizzyness, nausia, tingling in the arms and fingers, tunnel visions (sparklies in the eyes), i have to sit down, period... its sit down, lay down, or pass out... well here i am in the disabled seat, when some one with the wheelchair comes on the bus, the bus driver tells me i have to move, i look at him, and say... "I don't think i can, " panting softly... the other "seat" was taken by a baby stroller, and the rest of the bus was filled... "If you can help me stand, and move to another seat..." driver told me to move, so.. i tried... i made it about 4 steps before passing out. hosptial doctors :syncopy attack?" i nod... "well your fine go home." i look at the last blood presure reading, 90 over 70... "nope, no way, i'm not moving from this bed till i'm 110 over 90 at min... come back in 20 min... doctor looks at me, looks at the machine... "Your call, just get some fluids in you."

i am disabled and we have a service through our public transportation where they have a service that will come to your house and pick you up and will also bring you home. OP should check into this with the transportation company. they would have to qualify but its not very hard just a doctors note and paper work then an interview with the rep from the transportation company.

Handicap seating in bus story: My entire perspective changed when I heard the small update. OP and the gentleman spoke after and ended up apologizing to each other... This bit of information helped me to realize that in this particular incident, not being handicapped myself, I am unqualified to legitimately or rightly render an opinion… I had an opinion formed until I heard the update. Then I remembered, yet again, why it’s best not to jump to conclusion; which is one of my bad habits… Maybe they could’ve shared the seat… Lol…

Physical always trumps mental op was an entitled ass. Look at it this way she had a panic attack she was embarrassed no long term effects. The man if standing could have fallen injured himself or others if he took them down with him or fell on them he could have broken a hip leaving him permanently wheelchair bound or at least months of pain. Disabled seating is not simply for everyone disabled it's for those who need it and while op needed it. It is still 1st come 1st serve. Op was not wrong to ask but they were very wrong to insist once it was clear the man was disabled and entitled seeing as the man needed it more. It is also widely recognised in the older differently abled community that assisted acsses facilities come with priority to those that need it more. Because they remember not having it available.

My dad once forced me to watch Childs Play and I was so scared that I ran behind a couch and started crying my eyes out during the movie. I could not sleep at night with dolls even just being on the floor, I had to put them in a closet. It got so bad that I had a freaking panic attack from being in a room filled with dolls. Mark is right: Chuckie _is_ one scary MoFo. And having a young child sit through such a movie is insane. I agree with the idea that movies that aren't appropriate for everyone need to stay out of the "common areas" and be watched in bedrooms or a den that can have the door closed or whatever. The idea that other people have to be relegated to their bedrooms because other people are watching a movie is punishing the person who has to go to their room. That's not fair at all.

And even had a Chuckie doll. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ 🤣😂🤣 Sometimes wonder how that kid turned out.

Story 4: ESH the disabled seating is for anyone with a disability but it's first come first serve. Additionally, demanding someone to stand with a physical disability that makes it difficult to stand up when your disability does not make it difficult to stand is an asshole move. OP didn't need to sit, she needed everyone in view in front of her and there were other ways of attempting that. Playing "who has it worse" is also an asshole move. Asking was fine, but Op should have found another way to cope when he said no. OP is going to experience this again and again and needs to find additional ways to manage her symptoms when things don't go perfectly. The other person should not have chimed in as it was none of her business. It wasn't rude to ask someone if they minded moving. It was rude to demand when they said no, but the lady should have minded her business. Finally, the old man is also an asshole because OP DOES have a disability and calling her " a big baby" is uncalled for when she has real mental health issues. If we reverse the situation, and say something similar towhat he said to her, it was like calling him "lazy" for sitting there. She was having a panic attack. That doesn't make her a big baby and denigrating it wasn't right.

Disabled seating is NOT for anyone with a disability. Disabled seat is for people with a disability that makes them unstable wile standing in a moving bus. Or a hazard if they are in the isle. Someone who is deaf is disabled yet has no right or need to sit in disabled seating. It is also not first come first serve. Wheelchairs take priority. Over everyone else. Op was being entitled and trying to bully a disabled man into giving up his seat. While you might just let that happen because its non of your business other people stand up when other people are being treated badly.
