In story one, the sister stole items like drug addicts do. The difference is, the sister took advantage of a sick person while not being sick herself. OP did right by the situation calling out a 19-year-old. That's not a child, that's an adult. Hopefully OP got that bedroom key back and OP's husband ends up okay.
@barbarastorball21173 жыл бұрын
Op did the right thing by calling her out in front of family so she couldn't dispute it in the lie to everyone, to steal from somebody with cancer is very low. The sister needs to get back everything that she sold even if she has to borrow money to get it. Is. Op should never let her sister back in her house again because this this sister hasn't learned she simply will probably find another way to steal until she's caught again. She's old enough to know that stealing is wrong which is why she didn't fess up until OP showed proof with the video.

OP kind of deserved to have that stuff stolen. She obviously has a history of being a family doormat and that is why the sister took the stuff from her KNOWING she wouldn't get into trouble (and she didn't other than some harsh words lol). Maybe I'm becoming jaded from watching these videos, but I kinda wonder if this really was 'forgetting.' Definitely agree that rabid vegans should be banned from police company. They rarely seem to get any real comeuppance, though. They don't even get the ban hammer online when they start comparing people who not only eat meat but have to *audacity* to live in a farming community to Nazis and calling us 'reprehensible,' 'filthy,' 'ignorant,' and 'liars.'

@@brigidtheirish Not to mention most vegan arguments say that we R torture murder and abuse animals Which in the wild most animals are brutally murdered by one another and sometimes in the case of most orca's attacks they do it for fun And don't even get me started on mill zebras. Story 2: I would be pissed if I were the brother, too! I don't care if they trust the person or not, I don't personally know the friend. You can reschedule a "doggy spa day", you can't reschedule a medical emergency. And OP could have inquired about taking the kids to a friend when the brother showed up, as well, rather than just do it. If the brother opposed then OP could have rescheduled the dogs appt or taken the kids with. And I agree with other comments...what does the size of OPs house have to do with the story aside from gloating?

Holy shit does the OP in the second story reek of shallowness and entitlement. It was a medical emergency that couldn’t be avoided. The mall and the doggy spa would be there the next day. And to threaten her father with not walking her down the aisle, girl would be lucky anyone showed up to this wedding.

OP going to mall is so bad in story. So, she really found and paid someone to watch the kids instead of just taking the kids with her. And the size of the house is irrelevant. Why did she bring the up??

If I were OP in the first story, I'd arrange for a friend to stay at her house during the future funeral, you know, in case certain people conveniently decide they aren't wanted and don't show up to the service. (in this case it might be best to invite her just to keep her sticky fingers where people can see them)
@red04213 жыл бұрын
It's easier to evade a ship than a submarine. But it's fun either way to sink them to the depths. If she shows up/gets invited, have at least 3 people watch her like a hawk because you take your eyes off her for a second and I bet she'll steal off the damn corpse or from the bedroom after "getting lost finding the bathroom".

The sister didn't help op. She "helped" herself. Op needs to get the police involved. That will fix the sister's rent problems. She'll get a bed and 3 meals a day all for the cost of ruining her family relationships.

@@red0421 all vegans DO act like this. People aren’t vegan to have a healthy lifestyle, people are vegan so they can say they are better than you. The worst part about these people is they are only vegan as long as they feel like it and will scarf down burgers and steaks and say ‘I am just having a cheat day’.

A lot of people in Story 2 keep saying "but you agreed to watch them" when the point of the story is she literally didn't agree. Her brother legally abandoned his children at her home without her consent. This is literally a crime. What the family is doing is also a form of abuse. While the injury was real, using an injury or tragedy to justify bad behavior is manipulative and wrong. You don't get a blank pass to harm others just cause you've been harmed.

Babysitting story. My SIL invited my then 10 year old son for an overnight weekend, his first time away without a parent, and I let him go. He loved her and his cousin and was excited to go. Around 11 pm the first night, he calls me to come get him. (50+ miles away). I asked him why. He told me his aunt and uncle dropped him and his cousin off at a friend of cousins and he was very uncomfortable. I asked him where did auntie go. Oh, she went to dinner and casino that night, so she dumped the kids at someone else’s house to sleep there! I was furious! Called her to go get him, take him home to her house and I went to pick him up. Last sleepover EVER!

Story 2: she didn't agree to take them. They were dropped on her without her agreeing to watch them. she could've called the police for child abandonment if she seriously didn't want to deal with her brother's kids. But she called a friend and paid the friend to babysit, which the brother could've done. I get why he was taking the wife to the hospital on his own, ambos are expensive, but really, you can't just drop a kid off at someone's house without first getting them to agree to look after them. which from the sounds of it, he didn't do.

A 1% pay raise doesn't even match inflation. The guy basically was taking a pay cut. OP is totally TA for giving a guy a decent evaluation but refusing to even give an inflation raise. No wonder his company is short staffed, management is fucking over the employees. Also I hate the ideal "you did a good job but I won't give you a good evaluation for your first year's time". Story 5: YTA - He's doing what's called 'working his wage.' He did, in fact, have an exceptional first year, and instead of rewarding that, you crapped on it. No wonder he's no long willing to put in extra effort when you literally increased your expectations of his workload, then didn't compensate him for it. Trust me, it's far more cost effective to give him a better raise to retain him then it is to have to train a new person from scratch when he leaves for a better opportunity for himself. He owes you NO loyalty as you've shown him none.

I’d understand more if they were toddlers or if brother had a habit of ding dong ditching them, but it sounded like a genuine medical emergency and I get the feeling OP did this more out of principal than genuine inconvenience. If OP had made it clear to the dad it was impossible and it was a choice between her friend or finding another babysitter she’d be above board Story 5: wooow, with a manager who holds their employee doing lots of extra work they asked then to do against them in performance reviews, I wonder WHY they’re having burnout and skeleton crew issues.
