In story one, the sister stole items like drug addicts do. The difference is, the sister took advantage of a sick person while not being sick herself. OP did right by the situation calling out a 19-year-old. That's not a child, that's an adult. Hopefully OP got that bedroom key back and OP's husband ends up okay.

Op did the right thing by calling her out in front of family so she couldn't dispute it in the lie to everyone, to steal from somebody with cancer is very low. The sister needs to get back everything that she sold even if she has to borrow money to get it. Is. Op should never let her sister back in her house again because this this sister hasn't learned she simply will probably find another way to steal until she's caught again. She's old enough to know that stealing is wrong which is why she didn't fess up until OP showed proof with the video.

OP kind of deserved to have that stuff stolen. She obviously has a history of being a family doormat and that is why the sister took the stuff from her KNOWING she wouldn't get into trouble (and she didn't other than some harsh words lol). If OP wants to stand tall for herself and her husband, she needs to call the police and press charges regardless of what other family members say. Otherwise, OP can expect more doormat treatment in the future by her family.

Story 1: It's not even just stealing. It's her stealing while hoping he dies so she can get away with it. Had he not been sick, she never would have done this. You can tell she's banking on him passing away from his sickness so she can pass off his stuff being missing as "he's not here anymore so it's being sold" still a major AH move, but she was hoping his death and everyone's grief would be a good enough cover so that even if they thought she was an AH, she could get them to believe it was a reasonable choice. She's not just an AH, she's vile and toxic.

Story 5: Welcome to corporate America! Minimum wage is still $7 an hour...which it has been since 2009. Meanwhile, cost of living continues to rise, and my rent still goes up every year. Companies complain that employment is at an all-time low, but what they don't tell you, is that jobs below 15.00 an hour are the ones that are understaffed. Jobs where they pay you enough to live? Snapped up in a heartbeat. I can list company after company that has been making better money year after year, but still claim they need to cut back on their employees' pay due to "covid." All so managers like OP can pad their own pockets. Things need to change! YTA, OP. In companies that actually pay their employees what they are worth, production skyrockets, turnover plummets, and overall employee happiness increases. Bosses that did this noticed their staff started buying houses and having kids...because they could finally afford to *live.*

Sounds like my last few years as a state IT employee. I had a saying, "The more and better work you do, the more you are given!" When I retired (early), my original 20 person team was down to five, and workload kept being increased. This is the recipe for disaster, companywise.

Her nieces and nephews was someone that is dangerous or will cause them harm while I'm away and she's away doing whatever she already had planned before. I rudely drop them off at her house unannounced and unexpected because I was inconveniencing her and she's doing me a solid so therefore she can still do her planes while my kids are well taken care of and I can still take care of my medical emergency but I guess I'm just considerate and so are my sisters because none of us would do this to each other no matter their circumstances 🤷🏾

The vegan story: NTA for all the reasons stated in the video, but I'd like to add...during the entire time OP was cooking, and his GF (I'm assuming she made the salad In the kitchen) still never thought about the additional people and their vegan diet? Almost sounds like the GF was setting OP up. During the entire process. Shopping, prepping, cooking, etc. She never once was reminded about them? As far as I can tell, they're HER friends, and at best acquaintances of OP. (If you can even consider meeting someone a handful of time an acquaintance. I'm not sure if/where there's a cut off from "we've met" to "acquaintance" to "friend"

Wow, the woman who wouldn't look after her brothers kids during an emergency... I live alone with 5 cats and a dog. My furry family are like my kids to me. I don't have or want kids plus I struggle with loud noises and people being in my face... Both of which kids are known for 😂 so being around them is uncomfortable at times. However, if a friend or family member contacted me in an emergency asking to look after their kids, then hell yes I am looking after them. Of course I will help someone who needs it. A dogs groomers appointment can be rescheduled, an emergency can't.. Also, I would be angry with my sister if she left my DOG with a stranger. Doesn't sound like this OP has any form of empathy.

VEGAN : The aggressive Vegan girl wanted to shame everyone into becoming Vegan. If she just wanted to eat she would have said "do you have anything suitable for vegans"? instead of "is the main course Vegan"? She then referred to the food others we eating as "disgusting". This woman should be barred from polite company. Your gf made two errors. She did not tell you about the two extra guests and one of them was a rabid Vegan. If she confessed she might have avoided the uproar. But she lied to herself it was your fault. If she keeps doing that, you will have to leave her. You made a wonderful dinner. A lot of people in Story 2 keep saying "but you agreed to watch them" when the point of the story is she literally didn't agree. Her brother legally abandoned his children at her home without her consent. This is literally a crime. What the family is doing is also a form of abuse. While the injury was real, using an injury or tragedy to justify bad behavior is manipulative and wrong. You don't get a blank pass to harm others just cause you've been harmed.

Around 11 pm the first night, he calls me to come get him. (50+ miles away). I asked him why. He told me his aunt and uncle dropped him and his cousin off at a friend of cousins and he was very uncomfortable. I asked him where did auntie go. Oh, she went to dinner and casino that night, so she dumped the kids at someone else’s house to sleep there! I was furious! Called her to go get him, take him home to her house and I went to pick him up. Last sleepover EVER!
