Exactly. If she wanted to keep a memento of her husband's writing, she should have taken a picture before handing the letter to her daughter. Or gave the original letter to her daughter and then asked that once she's ready if she can have a photocopy of the letter. That letter was for her daughter on her wedding day. She probably was heartbroken that her dad wasn't there and would have loved to have his words to her. She could have even read the letter out loud to her reception or during the wedding itself. However, due to her mother's selfishness, the letter was never given to her. The mother turns around and says that she fully intends of giving other letters to her daughters, but she sounds like the type that she'd read those letters and keep them for herself. She shouldn't have even read the letter. She should have given it to her daughter and said 'this was written for you by your father. In the months leading up to his death, he's written both you girls letters because he knew he was going to miss momentous moments such as your weddings, etc. This letter was written for you for your wedding day. In time, when you are ready, maybe you can give me a photocopy of the letter so I can read what he has said to you.' In general, I'd suggest staying away from any of the major brands: Budweiser, Miller, Coors, Michelob, etc. Your best bet is almost always going to be something from a microbrewery, craft brewery, or a local spot. There are also generally pretty solid beer selections in most liquor or grocery stores that will allow you to buy mixed six packs to try different things to figure out what you like. Even in small cities, there's often at least a good selection of craft beers in stores, so you should be able to find something you like with a little experimentation. Alternatively, ask the locals what's good. I'm from the Great Lakes region of the US, and around here, I would recommend trying things from Sun King, Bells, Three Floyds, Mad Anthony, New Holland, or Upland. There are also some national "microbreweries" that have decent to great beers; Leinenkugel's, Yeungling, Sierra Nevada, New Belgium, Dogfish Head, etc. Of all those, my personal favorite is Bell's Amber Ale. Bell's Oberon is also pretty popular, too.

Even with security camera footage of him buying two cases of Buttwiper from the liquor store in question, there is no proof he gave (or intended to give) the beer to the minors. The only way he'd actually have gotten in trouble is if he admitted to giving the beer to the minors, if he was at the party with the minors, or he was stopped and questioned by police after buying the beer and gave them sufficient reason to suspect he intended to give it to the minors. Even if stopped, if the minors in his company hadn't consumed any alcohol, and the cases he bought were open, its incredibly difficult to prove he was going to give the beer to the minors. However, if he went to the party and there were minors consuming alcohol, he could be charged with providing it even if he didn't.

Read the title, answer is yes. Im a barista and when people yell at me, its never fcking warranted. Just yesterday we had people working construction outside of the drive through and all we hear is a lot of banging and piercing drill noises with only some whispering from people trying to order. Its extremely hard to tell what these people are saying, especially when they have accents. But even then, like 80% of the time I get their orders on the first try. But this one woman wanted a Pink drink, had a VERY heavy accent, and was talking very lowly. I asked her to repeat her drink about twice, then I repeated what I had heard which was not what she wanted apparently because she screamed at just about the top of her lungs “PINK DRINK!!” And I was just shocked. I was like “Oh okay of course,” and looked at my coworkers. As soon as she drove to the window all my coworkers were like “Wtf that was so rude, she literally yelled at you,” and i was like “0.0 guess she was thirsty.”

I've actually done this, omg. The coffee shop I had pulled up to was having construction like right next to it in their parking lot so there was a ton of jack hammering going on and stuff. I'm naturally loud, so usually people can hear me, so I'm trying to give my order through the drive through thingy, and the poor Barista just can't hear me over the jackhammering. And by the 3rd time they had to ask, I put on my 'across the cow pastures' voice, which is terrifyingly loud and harsh sounding, especially coming out of a child-sized woman like me. It was right then the men stopped jackhammering (like all of them at the same time!!) and I'm pretty sure everyone in the 1 mile radius heard me scream out for a London Fog like some kind of raging Sirenhead. I was so embarrassed I was nearly crying when I came to the window and apologizing profusely to the poor Barista that I probably just given tenitus to.

I was that way when I was really young. I would let people borrow my stuff if it meant being friends for a few minutes. Really messes you up when someone claims to be friendly but ends up using you/laughing about it behind your back. I don't blame OP for taking the beer with him. The daughter who got mad at her dad for reading her diary, I completely feel her on that; my grandparents had stumbled upon some really depressing poetry I had written to work through some really dark feelings, so they had my DAD take me for a drive and made me read one of the poems (which did talk about suicidal thoughts) and I remember feeling absolutely humiliated and bad for having these feelings of depression so I just wound up kinda bottling it up... even AFTER a suicide attempt, I continued to bottle those feelings because I really didn't want to be embarrassed anymore for having mental health issues (even still dealing with suicidal thoughts from time to time). I get that the father had good intentions with it, but I completely understand the daughter's reaction at the same time, cuz I don't even tell them about any sort of mental health issues I have after that; I just kinda keep it to myself at this point (even if, deep down, I know it's not the healthiest thing to do).

Most culinary school are scheduled in blocks so usually a student needs to wait until the next block or be pushed completely behind which means they have to pay the additional fees that happen when you're staying another semester. This can lead to loss of scholarships and load assistance leading to students either needing to drop out or taking out high-risk loans that frankly they can't afford. @@frocat5163 Maybe. A good cop would collect cans and the boxes and compare the manufacturer's codes of where and when it was made, boxed and shipped. They can tell what time of day it was made! That, added to the security footage, shipping records, possible credit/debit records and first hand testimony, could get him jail time. First of all, no police agency is going to even attempt to pursue that line of investigation for a case of minors consuming alcohol, even if that consumption resulted in someone dying due to a minor driving drunk. Second, that level of product traceability is a complete fantasy. I've worked in the medical device industry for over fifteen years. It's difficult for us to maintain that level of traceability for FDA regulated devices that are being implanted into people's bodies. It is absolutely impossible to maintain that level of traceability on food products. At best, the manufacturer can identify when and where specific lots were shipped. There is no way to link those products to individual customers. I'm not sure where you got that idea, but it's complete nonsense. That's why individuals aren't contacted when it's found certain food products have _E. coli_ or some other contamination. The manufacturer sends out a notification that anyone who has purchased the contaminated products between a certain date range and in a certain are needs to check the packaging to see if they have any of the potentially contaminated product. There is absolutely no way for anyone to figure out exactly who bought those affected products.

@@frocat5163 You are absolutely right about food products. They can be traced to a particular chain, if not each individual location. As for medical devices, I have no experience with those. I do have experience with alcoholic beverages and cigarettes. These are treated a bit differently. I was able to trace both items by the codes on the packaging back to my store. Actually, once I had the packaging and codes it was pretty easy. I was able to press charges in 3 cases.

I had a friend whose daughter was struggling and didn't seem like herself either. We were all concerned about her and when asked, she would say everything was fine and wouldn't talk to anyone about what was bothering her, not her friends, family, professionals, etc. His wife came across her diary in her bedroom when she was getting some dirty clothes one day and found it laying right on the bed. Neither her nor he knew she kept a diary. The husband/father asked her what it said and she said she didn't read it and it would be a breach of trust. They argued with the father saying she is not herself and we are all very concerned about her and maybe the diary can shed some light on what the problem was. The wife refused to read it even though she saw it sitting on the bed 3 more times that week after she left for school. That weekend the girl killed herself. THEN, they actually read the diary and the last post in it said something like, "obviously, her parents didn't care about her since she left the diary out for them to look at and she had been talking about suicide." Since they either didn't read it or didn't say anything to her if they did read it, she simply gave up on everyone and life. 2 weeks after the funeral the husband filed for divorce and blames the wife to this day for not reading the diary or bringing it to him to read. After the first time, the wife found it and they argued about reading it, the wife never told him she saw it sitting out there the next 3 days in a row. The daughter was their only child. My friend has a severe drinking problem now and his wife ended up going out to bars, getting drunk, and having sex with numerous men several nights a week. It appears she may have a drug issue as well. Sorry, but if your kid has an issue and you are worried about it, you do WHATEVER it takes to find out what the problem is in case something bad is looming around the corner.

Thomas Joseph oh gosh that’s awful. I can understand why the husband was upset enough to blame his wife, I really can. But I do wish your friend could get some help to stop blaming herself. She made the choice to respect her daughter’s privacy... that turned out to be the wrong choice, yes, but she didn’t make it out of malice! She was just trying to do the right thing! She really doesn’t deserve to feel guilty for the rest of her life and drown in drugs and alcohol. I hope she can get some therapy and learn to forgive herself so that she can make a better life for herself. 😢
@dmf13014 жыл бұрын
Thomas Joseph sorry, I misread... the husband has the drinking problem. He needs help, too, he obviously feels guilty and he doesn’t deserve to either. He deserves help to forgive himself and make a better life, too. Neither of them deserve the guilt they are heaping on themselves! Just a very sad situation. 😢😢

Omg Thomas, that’s awful! That poor girl was crying for help and while I obviously see what the mom was trying to do...... Gosh, I don’t want to sound like I’m harping on her because I’m not, she was clearly doing what she thought was right at the time even if it wasn’t. The thing about teenagers is....they’re not always good at asking for help. I’ve heard it suggested that because it’s that age gap between childhood and adulthood where pressure is constantly on them to not act like children, prepare for the future, and start handling things on their own even if they don’t know how yet, they feel like they CAN’T ask for it. As someone who struggled HORRIBLY in my teenage years and refused to ask for help, I was inclined to agree to the suggestion. I was forced by my middle school to see a therapist because I didn’t have friends while completely IGNORING the bullying I was being subjected to. They forced me to miss class until someone could see me and I missed two whole weeks of school over it. When I was raped and struggling with a candy dish of other mental health issues, I was AFRAID to ask for help because of how I was treated the time before that I didn’t know what to expect this time around.

My pastor was the first person I came out to. We had a fantastic conversation where he was so supportive & loving. I'm not christian anymore, but I'll never forget him & never stop respecting him for spreading so much love & encouraging growth of acceptance in Christianity. One of the first things he asked me was if I was safe with my parents. He said his first concern was making sure I. was in a safe place and didn't have to fear around my parents. Luckily, I am in that safe space, but I'll never forget his kindness.

That first one had me crying, my mom died when I was young and I would be CRUSHED if I found out my dad kept something like that from me, it’s unbelievably selfish! To think your grief outweighs your own child’s or that you’re entitled to something just because of how much you want it is delusional. Her husband wanted to give his children something special to help them get through his death, and to express his love for them even after he’s gone and she stole that moment from both of them. It’s absolutely deplorable and there’s no excuse

One time, a Karen came into my store and asked my shift manager to stop cleaning the glass of our pastry case with our windex like cleaning spray (no food was harmed in the cleaning of the case, and I believe the spray is non toxic anyways, unlike Windex), and Karen told her to stop cleaning cause she was eating across the room and didn’t want to be poisoned (this was pre-quarantine so our lobby was open). We have to do our tasks within a certain time period so we can go home on time.... Oh and even though my shift agreed and stopped cleaning, she still left a review saying that we shouldn’t be cleaning when people are in the lobby. 🙄

What? In what universe does a spouse refer to said spouse by a moniker solely based on the relationship they have to their kids. She was an Ahole, but this complaint makes zero sense. I doubt you've ever been married or had kids bc calling your husband 'my children's father' sounds incredibly impersonal 💀

Speaking as a lesbian: If my relative told me that staying in the closet for a little longer would get me a $7million inheritance, I'd be SO FRIGGIN APPRECIATIVE LIKE HOLY SHIT THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY WOULD BE LIFE-CHANGING, I would absolutely stay in the closet for that reason. What a good freaking uncle for looking out for her to that extent. Like, that scenario could have EASILY swung a completely different direction and I'm so glad it didn't, jfc.

If it hink about getting 7 million when I turn 20, I would actually do pretty crazy shit to ensure I keep this inheritance, I mean, if you think about how much money you would be getting if you invested that money in something, you would quite literally only need to work for a year or two to buy a house and after that you just get the money you need to survive from this investment, every job you have will be a nice little bonus for your nice new car or something like taht.

I’m a barista, and I am 100% sure the story is about Starbucks because they follow the same protocol I do at my store. The barista was grinding cold brew. Not urgent. Just needs to be prepared within the hour. Coffee, however needs to be brewed every ten minutes to stay fresh. It’s a hard rule. You’re on a. Schedule and have to perform like six other tasks within that ten minute cycle. No. It couldn’t have waited. She gave OP her drink, ending the verbal contract as OP could leave by that point.
