What shocks me...The Selection chief Agarkar and co...They knew he will not play....but Probably had to put him on the list of 19...So am sure Ghambir is not somebody who can communicate nor build a bond with players..The selection panel and Coach should have taken a senior player into confidence prior to selection and departure..,made it clear......'thereby they could have taken another spinner...like Varun Chakraborty...and many other Spinners in the country Etc...I think the selection panel and Gambhir just made a fool out of a Champion....I dont think Ash is a jealous or Petty minded to think he will show silly attitude....Only he is not a bullshitter and upfront and honest... Who is Atul wasan to comment on Ashwin? What are his credentials? Big zero! A champion bowler like Ashwin deserves much better treatment from the team management. They treated him very badly.

Atul Wassan and Sunil Gavaskar perhaps are not aware that as the premier world bowler to be benched repeatedly, he was not going to take this treatment lying down and only put his hand up for the Aussie tour provided he is not benched. Benching him first up in Perth is a snub no premier bowler would take easily. Have Muralidharan, Kumble, Warne ever been treated like that? If Ashwin were a Mumbaikar, he would have been Captain of the Indian team. Why is Rohit Sharma still playing when he has done very little in the last 8 Test innings? Performing Tamil Nadu players have always been handed a raw deal from the days of S. Venkataraghavan now to Ashwin. This works on all Tamilians and this treatment is obviously wide spread in all fields including politics. No wonder Tamil Nadu wants to be a separate country.

Yardsticks for bowlers vs batsmen is not equal. I think in all fairness ashwin wasnt treated well. While going away midway of the tour raises eye brows but i somehow feel there has been mis communication between team management selectors and him. Sometimes it happens in corporate as well where they leave suddenly. While i will agree that even though sundar would have been preferred since he is younger espicially here in australia where grounds are big, ashwin could have stayed till end of the series and leave on a note where the nation will raise eyebrows But hes human so we could cut some slack for him and appreciate his achievements

MSD, Anil Kumble, Sourav Ganguly all retired in the middle of a series. Atul wasan might not criticize if kohli did the same. Can’t comment without knowing the full story. Not getting into the biases and politics in the BCCI and affinity to people from certain parts of the country only.

Ashwin is a big entrepreneur. Owner a major five start hotel in chennai. Man knows that he will not be playing till 26 end and if he hangs up mid 26 will not get this attention 😂😂😂😂😂 leaving midway.

He got dropped for couple of games is not at all the right reason to give retirement. If someone has gotten picked up over him and India is winning the match or fighting for the draw then you being as a national player should be happy and proud for other player. That’s how you earn respect. Shami said in an interview after 2023 world cup when he got dropped for first few games. There should not be jealousy or insecurity factor when your are playing a team game. Many established players got dropped before even after their successful career. Nobody had taken the immediate retirement.

Hereafter, BCCI should take an undertaking from the players especially the seniors on foreign tour that they will be available for the entire tour whether they are in playing 11 or not. No such excuses like retirement can be given unless there is an emergency in their family. This is not the way to show his dismay on whether he his in the playing 11 or not in every match on tour.
