7:35 its true Robin... it happened in Brazil where a devastating heatwave was going on, the heat index was 59 C/138 F. The stadium banned water and a woman died on the first day. Others got 2nd degree burns due to falling. Apparently the security officers blocked atleast one of the exits and once it was opened people ran out causing people to fall on metal and burn themselves. After thousands of fans were already lined up it was announced that the concert was postponed(not cancelled) and because it was near a bad part of brazil people were getting mugged as they left the venue.

Apple Customer service tends to be extremely kind. I remember my phone acting up a few years ago during Christmas time. I contacted for advice. I ended up just having to get a new phone because nothing helped. I remember thanking them for everything they’d done so far. They said that I was the nicest customer they had that day. It made me so sad to know that people had probably been extremely sh*tty to them all day. Like it’s not their fault. They can only do so much for you. They don’t control the prices or anything.

It detects what needs to be cleaned by changes in elevation on the ground, hence why if you put a plate on the ground the roomba might go after it. It will only go towards things that it can see the top of; so it won’t go after pet poop if it’s taller then the roomba, I guess.

Repair is more expensive for two main reasons: 1. Manufacturing is a highly uniform, efficient, automated process and repair is not--every repair is a little different. 2. Manufacturing is done with cheaper labor than repair, since repair is usually local to the customer. You could group all of these under "economies of scale". The cost saved in manufacturing a ton of them at once in an area with cheap labor and shipping them in containers on boats makes it hard for repair to compete regardless of where you do it.

@@Otterifcation Yes there are a certain amount of risks that come with them but said risks are pretty much the same as all nuclear power risks. In fact they could even be safer than traditional reactors as at least in the Savannahs' case, in the event of an emergency the reactor chamber is immediately flooded and the fission process is shut down. This isn't possible on land reactors and is actually a reason that various prototype nuclear power plants that are barges were made. Now one new issue I see is that companies would have to properly maintain and spend money on said ships which as we all know, companies don't like to do that. Now, a way to circumvent this issue is potentially having some sort of committee or group that makes sure that the ships or whatever are properly taken care of. But then that gets into all sorts of bureaucracy and management nightmares that our systems aren't made for so, essentially we aren't ready for them. Yet.

Said concert was being hosted in a metal stadium, where they shut off AND CLOSED the ventilation (to keep people who didn’t pay for a ticket from sneaking peaks I think?) And they didn’t let people bring in outside drinks, like water. Normally, banning OUTSIDE drinks wouldn’t be an issue, it’s common for a lot of concerts, but they were charging (I think) 10 USD for a super tiny cup of water. People had literally gotten second degree burns from how hot the stadium had gotten, someone had ACTUALLY DIED, Taylor had to give out her supply of water to the crowd because water wasn’t being supplied, she almost passed out on stage, AND HER TEAM had to supply water for the stadium because the company refused to give out water. This is all a summary from what I remember from a video review on the situation btw, so I might’ve gotten some stuff wrong. TL:DR, money is more important than human lives to some companies.

Curious when the AirPod thing was, since now a days, out of warranty repairs is $69 now. (in warranty is $29). The only real way to have the repairs be equal to/more than the retail price is if all three parts break. And to be honest, as someone who used to do tech support, that's generally a user created fault (liquid damages, dogs, kids, etc).

There's a sweet spot on the "right" amount of water and the "right" amount of time to heat and cool off before it just becomes this awful inedible goop that smells sort of okay.
