I had a great English teacher when I was in the middle school. I memorized all my middle school English textbooks, because I didn't want to study the grammar. No college education in Japan. No "ryu-gaku." Every little effort to learn (English), taking classes and a total immersion have worked well for me. No one speaks Japanese around here (except a few of my Japanese friends). Anyone can get to the point of being able to speak some English after a few years in English speaking counties, but I think taking classes (English and other courses) at the college level for my professional career has helped me to speak, write and think in English much better.

Woah you're not a native English speaker? I couldn't even tell lol, I'm watching this channel for the purpose of studying Japanese and immersing. But scrolling through the comment section any English comments are quite scarce. If English immersion worked that well for you hopefully Japanese immersion will work out for me.

@@hellothere3355 Yes, it works. But as I mentioned in my initial comment, working and taking classes for my career advancement have helped me a lot. You cannot use broken language at work and/or school, so you are going to learn and speak better. Good luck.
