You speak about an interesting and complicated topic. I see it from two angles, biology and culture. For the biology, human behavior has evolved to maximize survival. So people are fundamentally tribal, that is we feel the most comfortable-safest-around those who look and dress the same, speak the same language, and so on. Racism is quite different, believing that someone is inferior simply because of their ethnicity; it is a learned behavior and is a product of culture. The leading voices (politicians, academics and yes, influencers!) in a society can alter the culture for better or worse (i.e. whether or not racism is the norm). Of course, in the real world it’s not always so clear. For example, choosing to marry only someone of the same race could be misunderstood as racism when It’s more likely a simple human preference. Or white people in the midwest who don’t interact with Asians or blacks too much might appear anxious or hesitant; doesn’t mean they are racist. There will always be some friction between different peoples but hopefully more understanding as well. BTW, I like the how your content is evolving! 👍🏻
