I couldn't agree more with your protective film choice. I've never understood having to take it off all your devices but put a screen protector on your phone?
@pfeerickАй бұрын
The protective film that is on the display is the one that the screen manufacturer puts on to protect the screen during assembly and manufacture. RM (and other manufacturers) just leave it on to keep it protected until you (the end user) want to remove it. I usually leave mine on a couple of weeks then remove them before the start to bubble or the adhesive starts going funny (if there is any). Personally I would love if there was an option of tempered glass screen protectors... BetaFPV managed to find (and include) some with their LR3Pro handset.

Only problem i have with this 6button on the newer radios is that it switches back to "button 1" when you power your radio off and on. So i used to switch my radio of on the auto missions (fc is programmed to stay on auto instead of rth) but the moment you switch your radio back on your flight mode changes back to button 1 flight mode...i know i can set button 1 to auto but my point is it would have been nice if the last button would stay in the radio memory...so when you switch your radio on it stays on the last 6button channel it was on before you switched off.
@pfeerickАй бұрын
The newer radios that have customisable switches don't have this issue... You can configure the switches in whatever groups you want ( i.e. a bank of 6, two lots of 3, three lots of 2, individual latching switches, momentary switches, etc)... and you can also configure the startup state. It is the older generation radios with emulated 6pos switch that would always reset to the first position.
@rooibaard123-w8mАй бұрын
@@pfeerick Thank you for your reply.. Do you know if the radiomaster boxer can be configured in the "start-up state"? i have watched most youtube tutorials regarding the boxer and haven't seen any mentioning of this function....the boxer is a relatively new radio... i think.
@pfeerickАй бұрын
@rooibaard123-w8m No. This only applies to radios with the customisable switches capability. The Boxer still has the emulated 6pos hardware, so radio firmware has no control over what the 6pos buttons and leds do. The GX12 is RMs first offering with customisable switch capabilities... prior to that it was only Jumper (i.e. TPro, T15, T20)

I think it’s a little weird that none of those four push-buttons are latching. I may be in the minority, but I kind of like the flat push button style arming and beeper switches like on the Mambo and Boxer. I know the radio comes with a two-pos switch and a momentary switch you can swap in, so you’d get the same result in the end, plus the switch ends are protected by the screen/antenna housing, but I dunno, I think I’d still rather one of those buttons was latching so its out of the way of the mode switches. Maybe they’ll come out with a latching version you can swap in eventually?
@pfeerickАй бұрын
The top two on the face are momentary, but should be configurable to be 2POS / latching. They also have their own led to indicate state. I think RM are trying to move away from latching press switches for their compact radios as they have been having issues with quality of the smaller switches.

There is information that it is 512Mb of memory, but unfortunately it is not clear whether they have increased the number of models to 60 (like many of the previous models) or if they are making the models in the same way as the TX16S? It also says that it can handle a maximum of 16 channels, does EdgeTX have a limited number of channels? With OpenTX you can run 32 channels, 16 against the internal module and 16 against the external one. I have only seen 12 channel ELRS receivers, but then it should at least be possible to run 12 + 16 channels with a 4 in 1 module on the back of the radio. or indeed 12 + 12 + 16 if you run separate receivers for ELRS 2.4 and 900 and two ACCST D16 8ch against the 4 in 1 module...
