Great tips! Warm battery tip from Sweden: Bring a cooler with two large PET-bottles with hot water (not boiling) inside and store the batteries in it. As soon as the batteries are being used, they will produce their own heat and in a foamy they will be insulated and perform as well as in summer, in a quad not so much since they're out in the wind.

It's maybe worth to dress batteries in socks

Great advice! Another handy winter item is a few square feet of sheet plastic or a mini tarp, as some issues are easier to fix if you can comfortably kneel in the mud or snow for a while.

good info as always. I own a heated winter jacket set it 18c when I'm out in the cold. it has huge inside pocket's I keep my batteries in there till i'm ready to fly. i've found by keeping them at 18c then flying like i stole it, high current draw keeps them warm enough to get just about full capacity. If i'm just cruising them I reduce flight timer by 20%

Great video 👍. I'm a semi retired EDF jet flyer these days. But I've very fond memories as a kid, charging up the Derbyshire Weaver hills with my dad slope soaring our Capstans & Miri off snow. Our buddies sister made us all 'furry tranny muffs' to keep our Fleet clutching pinkies toasty. 😅. Happy days. 🇬🇧

Thanks a bunch for all the tips, Lee! 😊 But yeah, the winter winds hurt a lot! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Some years ago, I bought a lambwool stroller muff at woolworth for 3$. It´s perfectly comfortable, especially when you use smaller radio controllers and definitely keeps warm. Also very usefull to avoid icecold winds cooling you out, are such cheap pop up tents for bird watching. Weights nothing and it´s a small weather safe space to sit in.

I would also advise that you take more coats and jumpers than you think you will need. If you are too hot, you can always take one off, but if you are daft enough to be out there in a teeshirt, shorts, and flipflops - - - ! And be aware of hypothermia signs in your companions, if they start to act as if they're drunk, slurred slow speech, etc, they are too cold and need warming up gently but carefully - in a warm place and out of the wind. In yourself, you won't notice it! For amusement - I had been flying on a particularly windy day (well within my and the model's abilities!) and the model had been parked on the ground for about an hour while I was chatting in the clubhouse, when a freak gust came from a weird direction, and flipped my model over, bashing it against a set-up bench. The broken stringers in the fuz were easily repaired - but that's unimportant. So, if your model is a high-winger, park it inverted on the ground, or at least tail high, then if the wing should decide to lift in your absence, it lifts down, not up!

Great advice. I imagine your weather in Winter is pretty similar to the weather in the NW of Spain….wet and nasty lol

Hi, I live in Oxfordshire and the local clubs told me they do not allow drones i.e. things with flight controller. They only allow tradtional RC planes. I tried to Read online, but I need a clear answer. Is there a website which lists public places that I can fly in. I have Mini Talon which I modified into VTOL.
