The pencil one reminded me of this idiot at my fiance's job. My fiance is a dishwasher, and they hired this new guy a bit ago. They have separate basket things for different types of dishes to go through the machine. The very first time my fiance worked with this guy, he had already finished training. This idiot at some point decided to throw a bunch of knives into one of the baskets that they use for the big pots and hotel pans, which has just bars running across instead of across and longways, like the ones used for silverware. A few seconds later, they hear KA-THUNK, KA-THUNK, KA-THUNK... My fiance shuts the machine off and opens the side and sees 4 mangled chef's knives jammed in the machinery. He said he almost quit on the spot, and the machine was out of order for almost a week. So, they had to hand-wash every dish in the restaurant. The idiot who broke the machine still works there, and still messes shit up all the time.

Bird Spot magazine - Old habits die hard and gulls are still very much associated with the sea, probably due to the abundance of food, in particular fish, that is found at the coast. There are over 50 species of gull and they can be difficult to tell apart to the untrained eye so although there is no single species of gull called a seagull, it can be easier to lump all gulls together and give them the generic name, seagulls, including those that are rarely seen at the beach.

For the washing one around 5:45 or so, they usually come inside of two wraps. The first is the outer packaging that it shows being removed, but they usually have another wrapping over the cleaner itself that disolves, you know, so you don't handle chemicals with your bare hands.

The bit with the front door leading directly to a combination bathroom/kitchen reminded me of my grandfather's old house in Toronto. There wasn't a bathroom on the ground floor, so when he broke his hip and could no longer reach the upstairs bathroom, it was easier to connect a new toilet to the kitchen plumbing. But at least they built a private stall instead of keeping the toilet exposed like the one in this video.

I made mashed potatoes from flakes today. The back of the box has amounts for 2, 4, 8 and 16/18 servings in a table. Above the table, at the top, with little image icons, is the amounts for making 4 servings. I tried to make 2 servings but, after measuring the potato flakes for that amount, defaulted to looking at the image icons and used too much water, milk and butter. I had to add more flakes to get it to the right consistency. My dad did the same thing several days ago. That is intentionally terrible design to make you run out of flakes faster so you’ll have to buy another box. I hate it.

I work with birds! that sign is depicting an ibis (eye-biss). different species are found all over the world and are known to enter human areas soliciting food or trying to steal food from humans. in South Africa (where the Hadada ibis live) locals call them 'bin chickens'. there's a TON of white and white-faced ibis in Walt Disney World. scarlet ibis are pink and often confused with flamingos. *the more you know theme*

5:45 Those dish washer tablets generally have a thin dissolving wrap on them, probably saying you don't need to unwrap that. I think that is in the usage instructions on all of those type, but it seems this one was also individually wrapped in non-dissolving packaging for some reason. They just slapped the products usage instructions on there with different packaging and treated it separately.

When one hazard just isn't enough, @3:40 : - Light fixture over Jacuzzi, not the WORST electrical hazard, but if it fell for any reason... - Also consider trying to set up the ladder to change the bulbs... - No guard rails or hand rails protecting from ANY of the six independent fall hazards around this monster. - multiple slip hazards aggravating the fall hazards, two-foot drops, stairs with tile surface. Just... - No shower curtain, allowing splash to get everywhere, aggravating the SLIP hazards! - Does the shower surface even have a depression? I don't see a proper lip to keep the water in. - Towel rack is on outside wall mid-way down one of the steps. So yeah, this shower/Jacuzzi is a Rube Goldberg Machine of broken bones waiting to happen. A simple set of hand rails along the edge on both sides from the top of the steps to the end would reduce the hazard rating of this deathtrap MASSIVELY. Another set of rails spacing the Jacuzzi from the shower would at least take this thing down to _modestly unsafe_ instead of killbox.

You want a crappy design to listen to this. In my room the switch by my door controls a single floor outlet and the light to the room is across the room next to the closet. Not only that though but the switch to turn on the light also turns on the closet light. So our solution has been to basically unscrew the closet light when we are not using it.
