Hello sir, Could you please help explain the significance of the story in judges 19 where a levite gives up his concubine to be abused by a mob who is actually out to abuse him, cuts her up into 12 without even knowing if she is dead or alive and send to the tribes of Israel. And why men who, like in the cases of Abraham and Lot, send up their daughters or wives to be abused in order to save their skins are a common motif in the Old Testament? Why is a man's life and honor more important than his wife's or daughter's? Why was it acceptable? My second question concerns Judges 20, where 11 tribes of Israel go to fight with the tribe of Benjamin. On the first day of the conflict, Israel asks God who should lead, and He responds with Judah. As a result, Judah loses and most of the soldiers perish. On the second day, they ask God if they should fight again, and he answers in the affirmative, nearly has their army wiped out. And once more on the third day, God grants them victory by saying "go, I will give them to you." Given that God had commanded them to fight, why did he allow them to lose twice? Third one, in judges 21 what justification was there for the Israelites to execute all males and unmarried women from Jabesh Gilead in order to supply virgin brides for the Benjaminites and why was it not deemed immoral for Benjaminites abduct young Shiloh women to marry during the Lord's festival? Once again, women are viewed as lifeless objects with little to no agency in their own lives. For example, why was a rapist's marriage to the lady he had raped approved in Deut 22:28, and why doesn't the victim have any say in the matter again? Why is it okay for the predator to marry the victim and get away with his crime, and why isn't the victim's mental state taken into account? Why do the Old Testament regulations not afford women the basic human considerations? Could you please make a video on this, Sir?
