2:53 That is wrong. The last wooly mammoths, mastodons, and Channel Island mammoths died out about 10,000 years ago. Sure, there were still elephants that do not go by either African elephants or Asian elephants, but they were most likely hairless, were subject to island dwarfism making them nearly a meter tall, and lived in the Mediterranean

Shepherd breads of dog are bred to protect. They are some of the smartest dogs out there and are extremely loyal. My favorite shepherd bread is one I learned about from a book series called 'The Dresden Files' (its about a modern day wizard who works as a privet eye in Chicago). The bread was bred the same way sheepdogs were but also served as guard dogs because they're huge. The Tibetan Mastiff (sometimes called the Tibetan shepherd) was used as a guard dog for entire villages in Tibet. In the book series a puppy that turns out to be half Tibetan Mastiff and half dog like mythical creature (a 'Foo-dog' from Chinese mythology) decides he's sticking with the main character.

Another fun fact about Al Capone, during the great depression he ran a soup kitchen that fed 2000 people a day!
@y_fam_goeglyd3 жыл бұрын
He probably saved more lives than he took. So, villain or hero? Just goes to show that the world's not a binary good-bad place. Though the soup kitchen did have an element (quite a large one) of self-preservation in it. He got the poor on his side, not the authorities. No one would (even secretly) work with the police to catch him. That's why it took the IRS lol.

If You wouldn't use them now, why would You start using them when it's not criminal anymore?.. Let's take your parents/grandparents etc, or a person who is against decriminalization, and ask them if they are going to start using the minute it's legal.. it's a sickness and it should be treated as one..

Al Capone was a complicated man. He did a lot of evil things but was known to be oddly scrupulous about certain things. People said he was strangely likable as well. I heard somewhere that people who harmed women or children had a tendency to disappear under mysterious circumstances in areas he controlled. Don't know if that one is true, just something I heard.

Until very recently (matter of a few years), I was on a really slow broadband - had taken years, and moving _into_ a village instead of living on the edge of a farm, to get onto that from dial-up. My village is approx 8 miles (if that) as the crow flies (about 11-12 on the road) from the UK's biggest telecoms company's main R&D centre. BT used to be part of the General Post Office, and they basically own the entire telephone infrastructure (barring a few companies' fibre optic lines in cities) which they then rent out. I was working for their network design department in one of the first areas to "go digital" in the late 80s-early 90s, so I got to see fibre-optic cables in person long before most people got to see it on TV. It was mind-bogglingly cool! And somewhat terrifying lol. Btw, if it makes you feel better, racing pigeons, which that one was (the whole homing instinct is how they got it to fly where they needed it to), are fricking missiles! It would probably beat our typical telecoms companies in a similar way, because even though we've now got FO to the village, it's only to the junction box. It's all on copper wire to the houses, so the further you are from the box - and our village is long and thin, with the box naturally being on one side, not the middle - the more it slows down. You're not alone! There are many rural areas in this country which don't even have what we have. The UK is extremely rural despite our large population for a relatively small country. And the phone was invented here... 🤦🏻♀️
