I have another problem, when I tighten the cylinder it does not close evenly with the grill, it is somewhat crooked. As I can see yours looks perfect.

Interesting, I wonder- was it like that from new? The threads for that piece are at the bottom connector where the 7-pin is connected. Maybe check those threads for ant debris, or any debris caught between where the top of the body meets the cage if something is blocking it.. Or perhaps any cross threading. Only other thing I can think is if the assembly of the inside of the mic- on which main internals are housed- if that assembly somehow got bent or angled from the top part which holds the capsule and cage. It seems pretty sturdy though, so that would be unlikely too.. I reached out to RØDE for a different with some photos attached and they got back to me fairly quickly, maybe they would have more recommendations on what to check for? Cheers

@@richardvxa Actually it is a new K2. :) I did not notice it right away, but after I opened it to see what tube is inside and tried to screw it back I noticed that it does not close evenly. The problem is actually the basket, the holes are drilled this way so the grill actually stays crooked. Great idea, the store does not respond to my emails, I will contact Rode and see what they have to say about it. Thanks. :)

@@BojanBojovic Yes especially if you got it new, you can register on the RØDE site for your warranty for defects. I work in quality outside of music, and in my line of work this would be considered a quality defect if the screw holes were manufactured in the wrong spot.

@@richardvxa I agree, let's wait for RODE's answer. BTW, how do you like the mic? I will probably sell it as it did not introduce anything new compared to my NT1 5th Gen. The funniest part of it that I am not a beginner but still managed to purchase it for "tube warmness", which is really non existent, it is a really clean mic. 🙂

@@BojanBojovic So far, I've used it a handful of times and I've found it sounds nice on vocals which naturally have a deeper tone. Not necessarily male or female, but any vocals which have heavier presence in the low mids- I like the way this mic handles it and I find it tends to have just the most gentle saturation in that area. With certain vocals more present in the high mids (more commonly a female vocal) I find the strengths of this mic is not as noticeable and I might pick something else, personally. Also, when comparing this with the TLM103, I find the K2 is a good alternative for a slightly darker and smoother (but certainly not lacking) high end. I had a bad experience with some cheap tube preamps before that were too saturated to use on vocals in my scenario and so I was a bit skeptical for this one, but so far with it's limited use I'm finding this is where it has it's strength and weakness for my use cases. If the NT1 works for your vocalist, then so be it. It's a superb mic, too. Perhaps you could get some additional character by pairing it with a preamp like the UA 610 SOLO for tube, or something else like RND Newton/Shelford Channel with Silk engaged. My local music shop will rent 610 SOLO for $50 per week or $100 per month. if you have local music store that does rentals it would be a fun experiment to test out some different preamps with your NT1.
