Really love the result of podcast sound with post processing. I only saw mic review on your channel but none of audio mixing / EQ tutorial which i think is also important parts of good audio. Could you please make sound mixing / EQ tutorial using basic premier plug and non-basic premier plugin? and also maybe recording voice over / spoken word using adobe audition? I'm sure many beginner would find those kind video very valueable and helpful including myself.

Hey, I just discovered your channel and wanted to say I‘m really impressed by the huge quality and content you have. I‘m definitely going to watch more of your videos, but I have to go to bed soon ^^ I haven‘t scrolled through all of your videos, but I would like to suggest a review on the HyperX Quadcast (in case you haven‘t done that one) and maybe a big comparison to mics in the same price range like: Blue Yeti, AT2020 (have seen the comparison of those two already), Røde NT-USB, and some more similar ones. I‘m a twitch streamer and I‘ve been looking for a new mic for quite a while, would be nice to get your opinion and recommendation/advice on it. Definitely gonna shoutout your channel to my small community over on twitch, because you deserve wayyy more subs dude ; )

Thanks for the video. You should compare this microphone with its model : Electro Voice RE20. Same look, same purpose (broadcast voice). That would be really interesting because RE20 has a special signature which some love and others hate. But I would be curious how good the copy is. The truth is : this is a dynamic microphone, and a cheap one (with a built in ADC), so this can't have the same crisp sound as a Neumann TLM or something like that. But it has some warmth and softness which sounds pretty good on spoken voice to me (kind of a vintage touch). If you can't find a RE20, can you make a comparison with a SM58 ?

I had a Podcaster for a few years. It has decent quality and it certainly did the job, but when you put it next to the Procaster, it just gets blown out of the water. The Procaster has a much richer, fuller and clearer sound. Honestly I think in general a lot of the sound quality goes out the window with a USB microphone.

My Samson Q2u sounds better, I get to connect it to an interface when the USB plug breaks or the electronics rot and/or become hopelessly obsolete, and I can buy like four or five of them for the price of this. Good choice for review though. I'm always curious about broadcast dynamics.

Oh thank god!! I finally found someone on here who responds and actually knows and cares about microphones. Okay, i need a usb condenser microphone for singing (acoustic kinda songs, soft) compatible with PC (garage band) I want to keep things very simple. What are your top 5 under 350$ that you would suggest? Also i love your videos, unlike other channels, you keep things interesting! You get straight to the point and show all aspects of the microphones whether you are a gamer or musican. And you are honest. Keep up the awesome work!!

I recently bought this mic. It's the best mic I've personally had since I used a lot of cheap headset and cheap mics that just picked up everything. It is pricey for what you get. should cheaper but I guess it's the brand more than the product which is a shame when buying things these days

The Blue Yeti is horrible compared to this. This one sounds fine as you speak into it and I've been OK with it, but the Blue Yeti picks up EVERY NOISE imaginable - I can't use it anywhere near a PC or laptop and even then it will pick up every noise outside. What microphone would you use then for that setup?
@AudioHotline
@AudioHotline 4 жыл бұрын
The Broken Meeple Blue Yeti is condenser mic, they pick up more room sound in general compared to dynamic mics... that being said, that isn’t really a fault of the Blue Yeti more so the room you are recording in. So rooms without treatment, or if you are using a loud computer, room fan, AC unit, or moving stuff around while recording, a dynamic mic is the right choice. What I would recommend at this price point, isn’t a USB mic at all, rather an audio interface and an XLR mic. Let me make it abundantly clear though, I am not a very big fan of the Blue Yeti overall, but I LOVE it compared to this muffled sounding, overpriced piece of hot garbage. For $229 (the current price of the Podcaster) I would go with: Interface: Focusrite Scarlett Solo interface (or Duo) Mic Options (all dynamic unless specified otherwise): Rode PodMic SM48 Sennheiser E835 Rode M1 SM58 At2010 (Handheld condenser) I would even take the $20 Behringer XM8500 over this. MOST IDEAL: try to find a good deal on a gently used RØDE PROCASTER and Used Focusrite Solo. If you are absolutely hell bent on going with a usb mic here are cheaper options BY A LOT that I like: Atr2100 Samson Q2U AT2005USB

To all Rode Podcaster user- please be careful when cleaning the body. I used that common antibacterial wipes and those black markings got smudged! Honestly I was disappointed that a quality name like Rode used a cheap way to imprint the markings.. if you look closely, It’s resemble those dry ink transfers if you remember back in the day.. those thingy that you scratch and get transferred to paper- they used something like that. I expected markings to be coated by clear gloss to protect it further from cleaning material. Anyways just airing my disappointments. I actually plan to resell it that’s why I’m cleaning 😂 now the price I have to offer discount because of that smudge! I own guitar pedals and other gadgets with text markings- I wipe to clean them, anything from tissue to alcohol wipes and markings stay the same.. they have good coating.

Yeah, for $230 dollars, you can buy an interface and a nice mic and get rolling. Too many great options for this USB option to be as expensive as it is. Hell, the Samson Q2U is a better way to get started anyway. You have the USB functionality and when you graduate to XLR, the mic can graduate with you. The Podcaster needed that. Finally, they should have went with a black grill if they're going to have the white body on it. Stormtrooper style.
@zezesilver
@zezesilver 5 жыл бұрын
the Q2U is such a solid mic and still rocking. the poscaster is the black sheep of rode products and for some reason the company resists discontinuing it. it must be an australian thing I guess.
