I feel like I’m hacking the system, posting one comment that both of you may see. 😂 But, I haven’t been able to find the answer to this question about the Streamer X, and I wonder if you’d know. You know how the Rodecaster Pro has specific microphone presets? So, for example, instead of applying your own eq, compression, etc, you just select “sm7b” or whatever mic you have? Do we know if the Streamer X has those options? If so, I will be ordering one immediately. Thank you!

@@ImpressiveTony 😂 that’s hilarious! I am sure most people are holding off on bringing this up because we haven’t seen final software. I hope this is an option in the updated unify, but I am not positive yet! This will definitely be something I bring up in the next video when I try the finalized softwares. If it doesn’t come with those different mic profiles, I’ll make a short of all the different mic profiles in the rodecaster pro II, since it has the same DSP, then people would be able to take a screenshot and change the settings!

One major question that has not been answered is if the processing of the stream is done on the computer or the device. That is very important.

Thank You for your always helpful videos. Im trying to decide on which products to purchase for a counseling and teaching streaming set up. I want to record some things so Streamer X “Simply” blending video and sound together streamlines the process is very tempting. I wonder about how the Rode Duo ( I Like the added screen and slides ) with a capture card would compare to the Streamer X. Would the audio need to be adjusted to sync with video ? Id like to avoid to much added post processing. Waiting for more reviews to come out with really world experiences before i make the final decision. Thanks Again For all You Efforts !

2023 and still nothing like the GoXLR yet. The virtual outputs and faders are so needed for streamers. Anyone who was dealt with voicemeeter knows how the software can sometimes glitch your audio mid stream. My GoXLR mini never failed on me.

Amazing review, thank you! I'm definitely looking to use this with a few of my clients. I would love to know if the Rode Streamer x can Connect to the Rode Wireless ME and receive both the TX & RX wirelessly essentially allowing you to have two lavaliere or handheld mic without having to plug in the RX.

How was it setting up channels and having Windows/MacOS recognize things? Right now I am having a heck of a time simply having my ins and outs actually recognized and routed properly.

Great video may I ask Is the audio from the mic Input on streamer x and the camera in sync. Just can’t see a delay feature like the rcp2 which makes its a no go for a lot of use cases if there are any sync issues?

I haven’t noticed any sync issues at all. I assume it shouldn’t really have any problems since people usually have to use sync because of two separate devices. I am curious if a delay feature will be available in the new version of Unify when it comes out… but I don’t really think it should need it… This is a good question though, I’ll ask Rode about it and include it as a topic in my next video.

@@AudioHotline thanks for the speedy reply agreed for obs and streaming apps that allow you to delay your inputs its fine. But on zoom and teams with certain cameras at lower frame rates you can have over 200ms of delay between camera and interface so be great if they can add it in later software update.

if you were to use BOTH head phone plugs 3.5mm and the 1/4 will both show up on rode connect/unify??? for routing/volume adjustment purposes. when you showed the app i only 1 but im assuming you only were using 1 (headset) for example i would use the 1/4 inch for my headset and use the other headset 3.5mm as a trrs line out but want to make sure i can control both within the connect/unify app.

Thank you for this video! I'm a noob with audio and streaming, im also new to xlr mics . I just bought the Zoom H6 to use (primarily) as an AI with my XLR mic, but also for recording sound to sync with my video. So my questions are how can I use the H6 with the StreamerX? Do I even need the H6 if I have the StreamerX. My primary use case will be content creation with my Sony a7siii for my KZbin channel and streaming (guest hosting) using my a7siii and xlr mic. Im also a Mac user. Any input is greatly appreciated!

pretty neat device. Would have been nice to have something like that before i blew many doll hairs on my ATEM mini ISO and Elgato Streamdeck which I rarely use. 😢 I'd be interested in how the device would handle resolutions above 4k... would it just downgrade the signal to 4k? Hmmmm.

Seriously! I went the Atem route too! This is actually something I can test… I do have an 8k camera I can try it with haha. It may not detect it, but it would be cool if it could down sample it. I’ll let ya know and make a note to mention that in the next streamer x vid!

I have the canon R5 that does 8k! I mostly use it as a photo camera now and have switched mostly to Sony for video, but the 8k is gorgeous on it!

@@AudioHotline would be nice if everyone could agree on a lens mount. I shot w canon for about 10 years. Was nice that my black magic camera had the EF mount but now canon went and changed that too! lenses get more pricy than the camera sometimes.

@@meistudiony yeah dude, that would be a dream! When canon shut down their new RF mount and made it so third party lens manufacturers couldn’t make RF lenses it kind of pissed me off. I only have a couple RF lenses and just adapt all my EF lenses to my R5. But that whole thing bugged me enough that I think I may end up just switching fully to Sony… even for photos. I do really love my R5 though. All the lens and camera manufacturers are just so damn greedy they will never agree on anything 😆 It’s not the same comparison at all, but could you imagine if every mic and interface company required their own proprietary XLR style cable? 😂

Good question :-) I watched most of the actuell "reviews" and would say: 90% of the youtubers are not streames or the target group. They lack of the most important and new features due to missing knowlegde. None really NONE of them showed how good or not the capture card system is and how it works. NONE showed what you asked. How does the Dual PC setup works. The outstanding features are notices by: yeah you can connect other media inputs bla bla. Compare that with the Lewitt Connect 6. The same. NONE answerd these questions. Anything else mentioned in this so called "reviews" is know by predecessor. What do we learn? 1. nothing 2. buy and try yourself (but 400 bucks is not cheap for buy and try)

Here is the thing… we get these products before everything is finalized. So anything that isn’t answered we just don’t know yet because we haven’t been able to try everything Rode plans on releasing as far as firmware and software goes. DieTabbj is acting like this is a creator problem, but sometimes we just have to roll with what a company gives us. As of right now there is no way to switch between two computers with a button, could this change? Yes. My next video is going to be the Test intensive one, like I mention in this video, and I will make sure I show the capabilities of the 2 usbs… As of right now there isn’t much to show since each of them work identically and that’s why no one mentions any different.

Hey, great vid! When you said it has 2 USB C ports and the ability to connect to 2 computers, does it also over the situation where I would plug XLR mic and Mirrorless camera in, and have BOTH USB Cs going out? One to my MacBook Pro, and one to my Windows Desktop PC? I would never need those two at the same time. MacBook is used for work (I need good quality video and audio), while Windows machine is used for gaming / streaming. You would greatly help me if you gave me the answer to this! Cheers :)

Yes, you would be able to send that signal out to both computers! I plan on demonstrating this in my next video. I am just waiting for the updated unify to come out for Mac so I can test it on PC and Mac in that next vid.

@@AudioHotline Another interesting thing to test would be if there is loss in quality (video an audio) when running this device through docks. I’ve reached out to CalDigit, and they said “they can’t guarantee” all the equipment in this use case would work as expected

Surprisingly enough I was actually using the CalDigit Thunderbolt Station 3 plus the other day with this, and it worked well when I was using the 10gbps usb-c port. It did not like the 5gbps ports. I have definitely ran into issues with capture cards and audio devices with my CalDigit station before!
