Us Gen Xers had the absolute best music growing up. Still had the legends from the 60’s and 70’s playing as well as all this new stuff that is now 30 years old. What a time to be alive in 90’s!

There are basically no good rock bands now. If I stream music it continuously suggests absolute trash. I also miss the music from 30 to 50 years ago.

What an amazing rendition of this song. Not one of their massive hits, but absolutely one of my favorites.

Love the tension in this song. It feels like it constantly builds you up to like an explosion point but then cuts back.

As with many REM songs there is something melancholy, but is seems to be the sound of endurance, and that what lifts us listeners up, the sensitive ones.

I have always thought that, it sounds like it's building to take you somewhere it never quite does but is no less a song for it, incredible. Plus it takes me back to my college years which is never a bad thing.

I saw them in Dallas Tx in 1995 awesome show. I remember they did a much faster version of this song and it sounded great. We were about 9th row from the stage. I don't think these guys were ever really the same after Bill Berry retired. I miss them.

I also saw them in their 1995 tour (in Boston). Fantastic concert overall, but I must say I prefer the usual slower version of Drive.

@Annakin832 жыл бұрын
I've seen them twice in France during their tour, in 1995 and 2008 (if I remember well), and I have the chance to meet Micheal Stipe and Mike Mills in a plane from Atlanta to Paris in 2009 and discuss with them for a few minutes about music and performance live. Great people, great band, I still miss them so much 10 years after they stop. Hear that Michael will come soon with a solo album, I look forward to hear his voice again.
