Love this band. I wish I could have seen them back in the day.

Could you upload some Gladys Knight and the Pips live songs? Specifically from the late 80s period, “All our Love” “Visons” “Life” albulms. There seems to be a lack of the late 80s early 9s period put Gladys knight on KZbin. It’s the same for the temptations and some other artists. Very strange but I love the songs from this time period. Gladys Album “all our love” had so many great songs, not just love overboard. At any rate, anything Gladys is good by me

They didn't break up 'very soon'...they were a band for almost 30 years. How long do you think they should tour and play for?

R.E.M. from the 1980's was so good and had a unique message about everyday life in southern & mid-western americana. Unfortunately, Michael Stipe lost the plot and became an activist in the late 90's. But by that point, they had already lost their edge, so it didn't even really matter cuz no one was listening.

It’s cool you don"t agree with Michael Stipe’s views but you clearly weren’t listening in the 1980s because he was very much an “activist”. Songs like “Cuyahoga” & “Fall On Me” which were released on “Life’s Rich Pageant” in 1986 spoke of the environment and “Ignoreland” released on “Green” in late 1988 dealt with his views on the Republican Party. So again, feel free to disagree with his views and to think his “activism” caused him to “lose the plot” but if you really loved the group you would know he was always outspoken about his views in his words and actions. To be clear, I am not taking a side, just pointing out the facts of this bands history.

@@ReelinInTheYears66 Okay...I thought about it, and you're right. Michael did have more activism songs that I had forgotten about from the 80's. We all knew Fall On Me was about acid rain, which turned out to be more or less a fraud perpetrated by the Left, and Cuyahoga was about industrial pollution of the Cuyahoga river. Also, Inside Out was about Agent Orange in Vietnam, off the Green album. Nobody wanted pollution back then (or now) so it was never controversial to take a stance against it. But Michael got weirder and weirder as the late 90's went on and into the 2000's, which is why literally no one bought their records from 2000 on. That's the kind of activism I was referencing...the pre-Woke b.s. So my basic point is/was that back then we didn't see it as "activism", but common decency to not want to destroy the environment. Sorry if I triggered you, but most of us sane people know that a man wearing a dress doesn't belong in a women's bathroom or competing against them in women's sports.

@@redriderbbgun8018 “triggered me?”I clearly said I wasn’t taking a side just pointing out that Michael Stipe was very much an “activist” in the 1980s and cited some of the songs he wrote as an example. How you got from that to discussing the issue of who uses what bathroom is beyond me. I was very polite and not remotely confrontational in my post but clearly you want to assume that because I corrected you on a historical fact concerning Michael’s very public views for 40 years, that somehow you know what my personal political views are. If you look at our channel you will see we post footage from artists who’s political views are very much to the left like Bruce Springsteen to artists that are very much to the right like Ted Nugent and everything in between because we are a music footage company and to me the history of an artist matters and so when I see someone post a comment on our page that I believe is historically inaccurate I take a moment to respectfully point out what I feel they got wrong which is what I did in this case. Again, I’m not agreeing (or disagreeing) with your views just the fact about Michael’s activism very early on in his career.
