When my daughter was in second grade she fell off the swing during first recess. Her friends say they heard a snap and she started crying. They took her to the nurses offices and the nurse just told her to shut up, there was nothing wrong with her and sent her on to class. She was sitting at her desk crying, wanting the teacher to call me but she wasn't allowed. When she got home from school her arm was red and swollen. I knew immediately it wa as broken and rushed her to the hospital. Guess what? It was broken. She'd sat in school for 5 hours with a broken arm! When we got home I called the superintendent and demanded he meet me at the school the next morning. Long story short, the "nurse" was fired on the spot. The teacher was suspended for the remaining school term and her contract was not renewed. And yes, we received a nice settlement.

The reason you should ALWAYS press charges: If someone is doing something to hurt you, your animal, someone you care for, or steal from any/all of the above, and you press charges, there is at the very least, a paper trail. Why this is important is that if they do it again, it becomes two strikes. The more strikes they get, the closer they get to jail, as a repeat offender. If they get incarcerated, they can't do this kind of thing to anyone else. If you don't press charges, it makes it a billion times more likely that person is going to hurt other people in the future. At the very least, for some people, if you press charges, it may just prevent them from doing something like that ever again, if they know they receive consequences for their actions.

My son had his appendix removed when he was 5. He was complaining of his stomach hurting, and I told him to lay down. He started rolling around a little, and started crying. He never cried when he was sick, so I was immediately on alert. We took him to the hospital, and they did a few tests. They were on the verge of letting us go home when a doctor came in and said, "I don't know how you were able to see it, we barely caught it, but he has appendicitis and had we sent you home, you'd be back here in a few hours and it could have been too late. He'll need to have his appendix removed." They pretty much thought of me as a super mom from then on lol.

My own mother hated that I grew up. She had clingyness issues that I wasn't able to fully put an end to till I was 30. When I was a teenager I had a simple Nokia cellphone. If I missed a call from her once she'd flip out. I had to call her out that she misses calls all the time. In my early 20s she went through a phase of saying she wanted to move to Idaho. And that if she did, I was going with her. I refused and she said I'd have to go. This repeated many times. She knows it'd never happen now though. She also had a bad habit of opening packages I ordered before I even got to them. That stopped on it's own in time. But about six years ago I had a DVD package come in from ebay and she flipped and whined "How do I know you're not ordering porn!". I then opened the package right in front of her to reveal an anime DVD of SD Gundam Superior Defenders. Then I embarrassed the hell out of her for jumping to conclusions and she never tried it again. On a rare occasion she relapses and tries to treat me like a kid. And then I just remind her I'm a grown ass man.

These power trip teachers really upset me. I was a special needs teacher for 40 years. I loved the job because I really cared about the pupils I taught. I felt it was a privilege to be able to help equip young people for their adult lives. I respected these pupils as individuals. If we had a parents' evening and couldn't mark their books that day I always apologised and explained why. Their books were normally marked every time. I wept when I had to retire because of my husband's health. I really missed those young people.

I walked out on my teacher while she was in mid rant screaming in my face and never went back. I went to a tiny little school, just a junior class and a senior it was in an orthopedic hospital so kids who had back operations or who's legs were in traction were wheeled into the classroom in their beds each day. Other people like me were there because we had serious medical conditions. It sadly wasn't unusual for children attending to die if their condition was really bad. My best friend died of cancer when we were 16. My teacher told me Tracy wouldn't be coming back, I was devastated but the staff didn't seem to care. Up until that time I was really fond of Mrs V my teacher, as I'd been at the school for longer than most she seemed to like me. But she was on the verge of divorce and I became the person in class who she took it out on. Screaming when I didn't understand something, even the other kids said what is wrong with her. Shame on you Mrs Vicory. So I had one term to go before I could officially leave and after a few weeks of her terrible yelling at me when she next blew up I calmly walked out and never went back. Nobody official got in touch to tell me to get back to school. The point of this post is to agree with the horrible teacher story, it's bad especially when like the OP had when you're with said teacher for half the day. I was with my horror every school day all day which is why I had to walk out. I couldn't take another minute of her rage, I went to the bus stop and waited for the bus home. I saw her out shopping s few years later, she had aged badly so I guess it was a terrible divorce for her. Still no reason to take it out on a girl you're supposed to be teaching, especially one who's best friend had just died and you had been the one to tell her. At that point I don't think she was fit to teach any more once she began bringing her home life frustrations into the classroom and on to me. I never said hi and neither did she.

I attended school board meetings every month (sometimes twice a month) for over a decade. I had a website dedicated to the behind the scenes of the school board and went to the meetings to report the crap going on. It was bad. Like, bribery written into contracts kind of bad. During what is called "Executive Sessions" only the board members are in the room. What tehy can discuss is tightly controlled by law.....so mostly it's okay. The thing is, many teachers were in the waiting area with me and the 1 or 2 other public members present. I lost track of the number of times I listened to teachers denigrate students by name. I listened while they laughed and talked about how much pleasure they took in failing the children of former classmates (small town.) It was sickening. The worst, by far, were the special education teachers. They mocked their students, laughed at how "having a ret#$d kid" was somehow "payback" for being different or weird in high school. It was horrible. But they couldn't be fired (tenure) and so it continued. Of course, not working for the school I also couldn't be fired.....so I reported all of it on my website. Living in a single party consent state (and being in public) I was able to record many of the conversations and put them on the site as well. I always redacted the identifying details of the student or parents in question.....and often contacted them with the full recording. You WOULD think that after I did this a few times (everyone knew about my website....it was a front page story in the paper once) that they would stop behaving like that around me. You would be wrong. They didn't care. Until they got a new superintendent and my best friend, an attorney, offered to represent any parent for free if they sued for the mistreatment of their child. It was pretty amazing how fast the union changed their tune. You see they needed public support for their financial bargaining. If the public was against them when they threatened to strike, they lost that as a threat. They certainly couldn't be shown to publicly support a bunch of teachers who were bullying special needs kids. So some teachers "retired early" and others "made a career change."It got better.....but don't ever think that most teachers go into teaching to help kids. They did in the past. Not anymore. They go into it for the money (Do the math, they are not really underpaid,) the power, and to relive their own youth......most of them peaked in High School.....those really were the best years of their life. Before some yahoo starts in with them being underpaid, stop typing. I've seen their contracts, been present for the bargaining, and know of several attorneys who gave up their legal careers to become teachers because it paid better. Also, the information is free to examine in most states. Look up your local teacher salaries and their benefits packages you might be surprised at what they earn. For those who don't know, anything a teacher purchases for their classroom is tax deductible. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid and attend a few board meetings.
@MarkNarrations4 жыл бұрын
That's pretty crazy and whilst I'd agree with you most points and it may also be a US/UK thing but I know for a fact teachers in the UK are really underpaid. Government schemes advertising "Join teachers, help children, whilst displaying teachers doing fun lessons of shooting water bottle rockets up and all the children skipping around with the teacher" and also displaying start on £23k a year, what they don't tell you that's in London. Anywhere else starts at 18k. 18k, to work 12 hours a day, 7 days a week(including home marking), that's less than you get for working at Tesco, it's just not worth it and then to be judged by Ofsted which is not fit for purpose and the government wonders why teachers are quitting. Sorry going off on one here but yeah treating children badly, there's never any need for it. Thanks for the comment by the way :)
@ACCER4 жыл бұрын
@@MarkNarrations It sounds like the UK has some issues with paying teachers. That is not an issue in the US where the teachers unions are very strong. In most places teachers start at around $30k (more in areas with a higher cost of living) for 7 hours a day, 5 days a week....180 days a year. Given the amount of work done on computers, including many tests, the grading is done for them. One of the biggest perks is that teachers only have to work for 20 years before they get full retirement. They can also "buy out" their retirement. Many teachers in their late 30's will buy out their retirement (fund the remaining years until they hit the 20 year mark) and then retire......and take on another career. I know several that used the free education for teachers programs available at most universities to get another degree to pad their second career. It's a huge thing here. The bottom line, though, is it's not about the kids. It's never about the kids. I have no objection for them living well.....but they are largely in it for the money when they should be in it for the kids. If you don't like kids, don't have them and stay out of professions that revolve around them.
@MarkNarrations4 жыл бұрын
@@ACCER Thanks for the reply Accer, yes it sounds very different here. UK unions wasn't great before, even worse now with our new Government. Teachers here could benefit from computer making systems though, would save them a lot of time. I have a friend who went into teaching(her parents were teachers) and loved being around the kids and watching them develop. More and more things have creeped in ie we have to be more like the Chinese with maths, our grades have to be on par with xx country. Kids are being worked to exhaustion and I can see it with my own nieces and nephews, pretty awful to see. Let's hope both our countries pull their fingers out. Thanks again ACCER

If this gets enough comments or likes I promise I’ll tell the ENTIRE story. But when I (12male) my parents bought me a Puppy for Christmas to try and ease the pain of losing the dog I grew up with, Zeke a stoic Golden Retriever that was Mr. Perfect. Diamond my gift Puppy was also a Golden Retriever. But he like Zeke looked more like an Irish Setter then a Golden. Anyways, as part of my promise to my parents to let me get Diamond I was ordered to train the little guy. Seeing that he had a Doggy IQ of Einstein in a pooches body I taught him over 50+ tricks including to bite a guy in the family jewels and the closer I squeezed my hand the tighter his grip on the nuts became… Let’s just say that little trick got me out of a situation similar to OP’s situation of someone trying to steal Diamond from me. But I’ll tell the full story either on Reddit or whatever if people wanna hear it. lol.

If someone tried to steal one of my dogs, I would probably end up in jail. Once I was walking one of my dogs, she's small and very mixed, she looks like a small skinny pitbull, she has beautiful honey eyes, and is caramel color (very common color for dogs in Brazil). Some crazy looking lady says "hey, this looks like my dog!". My brother rescued her when she was a puppy, and we went to live in that neighborhood after she wasn't a puppy, so there was no way this was her dog. I answered "ok, but this is not your dog" very strongly, and walked away. Never saw this lady again and if she tried something, I don't even know what I would do, but she would not take my baby.

I love the idea that you let your fans read a few lines! I would love to join in on the fun but A) my microphone is shit because the only one I have is the one built into my laptop. Not good. B) I'm kinda self conscious because I do have quite a heavy german accent. People complement me all the time because I am rather fluid in writing English, but speaking is just... no xD Also I love the puppy, Stella is best girl, if you see this OP you are absolutely allowed to kick stupid entitled men who try to steal your dog right in the nether regions. My ex actually got punched there once and explained to me how it felt. Made me uncomfortable. Must hurt like hell. So use it to defend your beautiful doggo.

That psychotic knife wielding attempted dog thief SHOULD have had charges pressed against him!!! The "I don't care what happens to him" remark made me really angry! Do you care what happens to his next victim when he escalates the crazy? Do you care that the next victim's blood will possibly be partially upon your hands as well? You could have potentially been the catalyst to force the possibly unstable man to be forced into some kind of treatment, but you couldn't be bothered. Too bad for the future people unlucky enough to cross his path I guess.

(note I am the student with the teacher) The school was a normal middle school. It just had 3-4 classes devoted to mentally disabilities. When she gave lunch detentions she'd put our desk in the outside hall up against the wall. It was embarrassing considering regular non disability students walked. The in school suspension she'd put the the books shelves in a way that they basically made a mini room in the corner and then put our desk there. Plus had the lunch detention rules. People say Karens have a look....If entitled teachers did....she'd fit the bill. She had a glare that would send daggers down your spine, she had a haircut that reminds me of movie teachers that are evil. If you saw a photo of her and a description you'd think she was a stereotypical evil teacher from a movie

Oh lord, the dog story!! Im seriously furious!! Treating a woman and dog that way is abhorrent and I hope he NEVER gets a pup or a wife, for that matter. Ever since I’ve gotten my new pup, anyone who meets him asks to take him home or when his first litter will be ready. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said no so far. I may have made an exception to buy from a breeder, but I would never add more dogs to this world when there are so many that need homes. Sorry, I’m not studding him, no matter how rare his color is. 🤷🏼♀️

When people don't press charges it's nearly just as infuriating as the people who do these terrible things. Not pressing charges is what will let them do the same or worse to someone else and even if charged they will get off lighter because they don't have history at least on record. Basically the guy's punishment was a bit of restraint, a ban from one dollar tree, and two dollars after he committed so many crimes and could have seriously injured or killed someone. Where is the line to press charges? When someone's brutally beaten or dead? I know its hard but pressing charges is something that has to be done. People like that feed off of no consequence and if they can get away with that they think to themselves what else can they get away with the next time.
@MarkNarrations4 жыл бұрын
I think you nailed it when you said "it's hard pressing charges", although I totally get what your saying. Doing something legal to these people would cause huge anxiety to the OP I'd assume. Cheers Squirrel, hope you're all good!
