Everyone who heard ED (still laughing about that having the same letters as an emasculating condition) and suppressed the urge to drive his filthy mouth into the ground is a frickin hero in this story. She's effectively a cos-player, though, and many/most cos-players are able to put themselves into the mindset of their characters. Especially those who do it for several hours, multiple days a week, for who-knows-how-long. I'd have been more surprised if she'd broken character.

The park story reminded me of a park story I have. Sometimes when i'm having a really bad day, i'll walk from my house to the nearby city park to chill out. Usually i'll bike, and thats what I did. I usually stay away from any children or anyone else when i'm there because most parents don't really like having a random teenager being near their kids lol. I respect people's boundaries, and I make sure they are followed because I have social anxiety and don't really like people either way. The playground area is kinda big, and I like playing on the swings, so I did. Now, I know the rules are that no one over 12 can get on the play equipment, but no one really follows that. So one day, I walk up to the swings after checking to make sure no one was there. So I started swinging. It was like, 5pm, and in my area thats when the sky starts to darken a little but not much. I started swinging and minding my own business. I wasn't playing music nor did I have my phone, so I wasn't bothering anyone. That's when a minivan pulls up and a Karen gets out. She looked like a Karen, anyways. She went to the park area with two small kids, like a toddler and a little girl who couldn't have been any older than six. I kept an eye out in case they wanted to swing so I could leave, making sure I wasn't intruding on anything. They went on the slides and play equipment and wasn't really looking to swing or anything, so I stayed. The Karen approaches me, leaving the children on the other side of the playground area. "Um, how old are you? You aren't supposed to be here." I slowed down swinging. "Um... Sorry, I can leave if needed, I was just swinging haha..." The woman looked visibly disgusted. "You're bothering my kids. Please get out of here." I was too afraid of confrontation so I just kinda gathered my things and left. I think she thought i was some kind of pedophile...

My brother recently got (and went into remission with) cancer. His wish was to go to Disney, and we were provided with lots of fun places to go not just the Disney parks. Since the fast lanes still can have kind of long lines they now also offer a worker to escort you up to the exit and just put you in one of the lanes for the seats of the ride rather than ques, depending on wait time and preference. Nothing but kindness was shown to me and my family thankfully but they make it very clear with special pins and the passes who the wish families are. A parent wishing that on his child is horrible so, I'm glad everyone politely put him in his place. I really respect all the park attendees, workers, and character workers who managed to keep face and provide a good experience for the wish family, the entitled dad's family, all while still teaching a valuable lesson to his daughter. I'm glad my family was lucky to not have any death involved but this will still effect my brother until the day he dies which is what makes his response even worse. I am thankful to all the people that provide a *magical* experience for all the wish kids and non wish kids involved, whether you're a polite attendee or an overly helpful worker it all really helps shape the experience, big and small. :)

I have a brain/spinal malformation. My mom got me a special card from a law firm that explains that I have a “brain injury” (a general term that includes my issue) just in case anything bad happens, or if I’m in a situation where people don’t believe that I have a disability, and I can’t show them my brain surgery scars lol. I get dirty looks from people all the time, sometimes when I’m sitting in the ER, occasionally using a wheelchair despite being able to walk most of the time, or getting curbside service at a place that only does that for the disabled. Because I look like a healthy person, and younger than I actually am. When I was younger, my friend was diagnosed with cancer. I have no idea of the details, considering at the time I was about seven, but I can only assume it was hard for her. My friend went from a normal kid to a girl who physically shakes with every step she takes to this day. I won’t reveal my age, (as we are both the same age) but we are now far older then seven. :(

I used to own a coffee shop. One of my favorite customers came in every day. We'll call him Gus. Gus had an artificial leg, this was no secret, as he was really cool about it and often cracked jokes about himself and his leg. Putting angry bird stickers on it and showing off his new "tats" and exclaiming how he must have sat wrong because he can't feel his leg. Anyway, it was a week before Halloween, and I had these three kids coming in every day trick or treating for free cookies, being loud about it, and making disruptive excuses about why I should give them cookies again. Because it was a coffee house in a college town, and we had a lot of students studying, I gave in just to settle the atmosphere back down for my customers. Gus, watching this day after day for three days from his favorite spot in the window seat, shouts out to the kids, "Trick?! You want a Trick do ya?!" Pops off his leg, and shakes it at the kids. I yell back at Gus, "Gus! No shirt, no shoes, no leg, no service!" These kids go pale and run out of the shop! Gus and I just laughed, and I have Gus a free cookie. The other regulars enjoyed the show too.

I think that dad had a case of "saying one's thoughts aloud" in this instance, and quickly realized his mistake. questionable to say it was entitlement as waiting in a line for awhile can get to people. I smile thinking that he got his punishment, but I'm mostly happy to hear that the girl was oblivious to the whole thing. Seems like no harm was done in this case thankfully.
