There is such a thing as adult games. Not just video games either. You can't tell me Cards Against Humanity should go to kids when it's not the family version. It's marked 18+ for a reason because of sexual and violent content, basically being funny. Even Stuff Happens is a 13+ game and that's more about the violence as it's about ranking the worst things that can happen from a paper cut to a plane crash and having to eat the dead.

My parents are used to yell at me for having asthma attacks, because it was easier than having my dad smoke outside. I know this is an older post, but I’m binging on rSlash lately. My mom was entitled, but instead of yelling in front of others (she saved that for when we were alone) she would be the “poor martyr” in public. Pretty effective I must say. As an example, when I was 16-17 I had a raging kidney infection. We didn’t go to the doctor much because it was “too expensive” and when we did she got someone else to pay, but she always had new clothes, perfumes, hair appointments, etc. Anyway, I’m in severe pain at night and her comment was “is it worth the $50 ER bill we’d have to spend?” I said no and suffered it out until the next day. I went to the doctor the next day, feeling like crap, and when the nurse saw my UA (lots of blood and particles) she said they didn’t even have to test it, I was sick. I felt vindicated, but then my mom said the meds and doctor bill meant we weren’t able to pay bills. *sigh*

Running into one person that is this deranged is implausible enough on its own. Coming across multiple is downright impossible. Let's suppose that the mom is an actual psychopath, who has no problem using her children to manipulate someone into buying couple hundred dollars worth of stuff. Let's suppose that she doesn't think through the possibility of there being cameras around; and a completely innocent person not backing down in face of absurd accusations; and the fact that the children aren't the most reliable accomplices in this types of situations and they might inadvertently let some of the details slip. Confluence of all of these factors is highly unlikely but let's suppose it happened. What are the chances that the manager also believes these bogus claims, ignores the possibility to check the camera footage, and all else aside doesn't even try be nice to a paying customer who had just dropped couple grand in their store? Slim... Then the beat cops (the most cynical, jaded seen-it-all type) show up and they believe this stupid shit too. They disregard all police procedure and policy, detain a suspect based on just the accusations, but then when the suspect points out that there might be video evidence to support his case, the cops follow his instructions and then release him. All this time the supposed friend does what exactly?! He just stands there and does *absolutely* nothing? Not try to step in for the OP, defend him in any way. Does he believe the claims and turn on him? No, the friend just disappears like they weren't even there at all. Like the figment of the imagination that he actually is. And in the end I would just like to point you to the Louis CK's famous bit: "My neighbor George". It's a story about a confrontation between Louis and his neighbor in a new apartment building he has just moved into.
@x0uzumakinaruto0x
@x0uzumakinaruto0x 4 жыл бұрын
@@Gaaxure I take these with a grain of salt. Yeah, it could have happened, but theres obviously some doubt. Just wanted to say. Now then... Assuming this happened, the friend could have been guarding OP's purchase. It might not have been mentioned because OP didnt see that, or forgot it as a detail. Friend also backed up OP with the cops, but was shut down. Yes, the manager could have been that fucking dumb because of the severity of accusations. When it comes to children, people wouldn't want to take that risk, especially if its a shitty manager like this. On top of that, its a woman. Of course they believe her. And yes, the cops handled it poorly. Theres no shortage of cops like that. They handle things poorly and get off with a slap on the wrist. Once surveillance was brought to light, they had to do their jobs properly to make up for the damage they did. In such a chaotic situation involving children, it would be normal for a retail manager to panic and for cops to want to immediately take the accused away. It could simply be a chaotic situation that wasnt handled properly.

I guess the mom has read from somewhere on the internet that allergies can go away and has brainwashed father into it as well... She needs to understand that yes, they can go away, but then it is up to the person who has allergies to control the exposure to the allergens. Some of allergies do not go away and some can even go worse as well, that is why people do not want to test if they have disappeared or not, it is not worth the risk if you are severely allergic to something. If it is just runny nose or itching eyes and just a discomfort then as a allergic person I can go outside in spring/early summer, but I would get away from specific plant pollen if I feel like allergy has not disappeared. It is not like someone is forcing me to run through park and smell every plant. It has to be my control on what exposure I can or can not have. Over years I can tell that my allergies have gone better. I have less of issues with pollen, but until I was 12 year old I did not have them. So they appeared from nowhere and now they cause me discomfort for quarter of the year or when I have to go through duty-free shops in airports (due to some specific perfumes). The mother should not test with foods just because she has read from alternative medicine sites that you can get person used to discomfort of minor allergy...

Every time I see one of these entitled parents stories, it comes to child abuse. Intentionally giving your allergic child something they’re allergic to is POISONING, which would be a crime even if they weren’t endangering a child. Leaving your child somewhere without clear plans to have them attended is abandonment. These people need to be charged, and at the very least have their children removed from them so they can be protected from this kind of narcissistic behavior.

That last shrimp mother... It reminded me so much of my grandma. After I had an autoimmune disease break out, I found out I have a few food allergies (thankfully nothing deadly) and some things my stomach now reacts really badly to. But she seems to be convinced I am just being a picky eater (btw, she is not that old and her mental conditions is no different from a middle aged person). She is the type of grandma that cooks and bakes a lot for everyone around her, so she always tries to make me eat something. One visit, she offers me a dessert. She knows well about what I can't eat, but if she gives me something, I list the things and ask if it really is not in there to make sure. She says it's fine, I can eat it. So I do. An hour later, I have a rash all over my body. After interrogation, she admits she put in just a little bit of grated hazelnut to add flavor. Another visit, my family is having a meal for lunch that I absolutely cannot eat. So grandma offers to make me some chicken with potato purée, which she had leftover from the day before. I agree, but check with her that there wasn't onion in the purée (since I started medication, onion wreaks a really painful havoc on my stomach). She's like 'don't worry, of course there is no onion'. Some time later, I am looking at the plate and see very obvious pieces of onion in the purée. Seriously, grandma?! I now have absolutely no trust in any food she offers me, because I know that she can and will lie to me about what is inside. She treats me like a picky child and thinks that if she just tells me it's not there, I won't realize, will eat it and be perfectly fine and happy that I 'didn't eat it'. I am 22, btw, and my mother (her daughter) has also been trying to convince her that yes, I really can't eat those things. To top it off, she spends a lot of her time watching the tv and listening to various doctors on tv programs meant mostly for people on maternity leave or in retirement. She has diabetes and takes her own diet extremely seriously. She is always talking about health. It took me so much of guard when she did these things to me.

Here’s how EP stories go: EK: Cool (thing) EM: Do this for me because I deserve it more than you, you (little) *insert swear here*! And my kids need it too, they’re such ANGELS! OP: no way jose EM: I WILL BE TALKING TO YOUR MANAGER AND CALLING THE POLICE (If she does, the police arrest her) (INSERT SWEAR CHAIN HERE) It’s nice to see that after a year, you’re still there in prison for attempted theft (from stealing something for kids), assault (for forcing her way through to get the things for kids), and fraud (for lying to the manager AND to the police). TIP: Whenever encountering an EP, check for any proof (surveillance, YOUR permit to keep something, a receipt, etc.), let THEM do the assaulting, and let THEM do the talking first to anyone, and when the cops are called, she will lie to them, and you will have proof. You can press charges for theft (if possible), fraud (most likely), and assault (because apparently YOU did everything wrong and she has the freaking RIGHT to be ‘upset’ at you, and she hits you or does something else to assault you, making it easier to steal. *KEEP IN MIND THAT THEFT AND ASSAULT ALMOST CERTAINLY COME HAND IN HAND, AS THE EP WILL TRY STEALING, ASSAULT, AND TRY STEALING AGAIN.*) Press charges if need be, sometimes if the EP is a real jerk, but try making them more upset than they made you if you wanna press charges. Best of luck to you, and stay calm when encountering the surprised pikachu face that every EP will make.

As someone with serious nut allergies I feel extremely sorry for what OP had to go through.

It seems that I'm not allergic to anything. I pondered about that one day (like, how can that be?) and asked my mom is there something I'm allergic to. Then she starts listing things: Strawberries, chocolate, oranges, milk... all the things I really like.. and I'm like.. wtf? When? How? Then she explained that when I was a child, whenever I'd get an allergic reaction to some type of food, she'd wait for the allergy to pass, and then feed me that same thing again. Over and over. The allergies kept recurring, but got weaker each time - and eventually my body sort of became un-allergic to it.. I must've been really young since I don't remember a thing about all that - in fact I don't even know what allergies even feel like (bet I was completely clueless about them back then too) So while someone might find that to be a bit abusive (intentionally feeding your child with stuff that its allergic to).. it does pay off in the future. If she hadn't done that.. damn, I would've ended up needing to be extra careful of what I consume.

"your too old to play video games" I started laughing. I'm 28, I have a younger brother who is 26, and an older brother who is 35 and we all play video games. My thing would have been I want the recording from the cameras, and then once I got it said I want all my purchases to either be free or half off. If u don't ill release this.

Tell that last anaphylactic OP that she can charge her mom, not simply child abuse or poisoning..shes deathly allergic to shrimp. The charge would be ATTEMPTED MURDER

when Rslash reaches the point of that EM story where she shrugs and says "oops", makes me cringe in an angry sort of way. if my mom did this to me i'd be cutting off all contacts with her and calling the cops. i feel bad for that OP.

If the mother is tubing shrimp on her utensils, isn't that premeditated something? Couldn't she face jail time for something like that?

Premeditated murder and yes she can go to jail for it along with the dad because he was an accomplice.

Is it weird that even though the Entitled Mother is suppost to be the villain in the story, the sexist characters (the mamnager and the cops) ticked me off more than the Entitled Mother? Imagine being incercerated because of a sexist bias. Luckily, the sexist manager got fired, and the Entitled Mother who tried to use a sexist exploit got arrested. So it all works out in the end. Also, I really hated the Sexist Cops in the story. They were just going to arrest OP (don't know what that is short for, in reddit terms) without any proof, or his side of the story. Forget the Entitled Mother, if I were OP, I would have nemeorized those badge numbers and reported them. *No sexism intended.* I just really hated how the story played out.

MasterFlame KZbin [old] *READ BIO* Exactly. I often see it 50/50, believe the man over the women/women over the man. I don’t understand why people, ESPECIALLY cops can’t have common sense. Hold them both, collect their stories properly, collect eyewitnesses, collect evidence, make arrests if needed. It’s not hard, same thing goes for the race issue. The worlds fucked up.

Humans are biologically wired to be protective of the weak. If a woman pretends to be weak and a victim, it’s more „believable“ (on an emotional level, not objectively) than when her male victim wants to tell the truth.
