6:47 thats a real phenomenon. thats not a "poor camera" its happens on mountains more commonly but he was at just the right altitude in just the right water vapor density and solar angle to make what is usually called a "brocken specter". its a documented atmospheric visual phenomena... in fact ever line cloud you see is just a warm front overtaking a cold front which can cause these sharp crisp deviations in LCL formations. it all depends on the moisture, density, pressure differences and temperature of colliding airmasses

1:26 this is just how mirrors work. It's a pane of glass with a reflective coating on the back. So if something touches the glass it won't actually reach the surface that does the reflection, causing the small gap to appear between the item and reflection.

most game engines are guilty of 8:58. It's quite hard to simulate light scatter in a live game engine without either multi-pass raytracing, (I.E. primary raycast, then another one to light the area) or multiple light sources. It doesn't make it any less annoying though. GoldSource and Source Engine both do this. Even newer Unity games and engines like Teardown don't light more than what the initial light source touches. (At least the few Unity games I've played that even HAVE a player flashlight.)
