Religion and Faith can be a truly beautiful thing, and it is unfortunate how often the ugly stain of sever zealotry is all that is seen

The funny thing here is that secularism and atheism can turn into a kind of religion if the people believing in such things become zealots themselves, and persecute the religious just for being religious. They start behaving in exactly the same way that fanatical religious zealots do, minus the belief in a higher power. It seems like this Galactic Congress was getting perilously close to that what with them treating any public expression of faith as being "state sponsored" religion.
