However nurses and other medical staff are competent enough to ask if they have anything that runs in the family like I.e., kidney failure, and if they say yes then they would actually be advised if not outright denied the opportunity to donate a kidney. But, seeing as how the stitches are evident in the photo, it looks to me that they did donate their kidneys and it also suggests to me that it wasn't a hereditary issue and so much a... well, unfortunate circumstance for their father. So, in conclusion, that's a very good point.
