A beautiful tribute to a talented artist. I saw Mr. Pierce many times in Manhattan at Michael's Pub, and his was strictly a class act! Btw, I love your choice of the Kaper music, so touching AND appropriate.

I attended his memorial service @ Forest Lawn. I was lucky enuff to get a seat 'cause it became standing room only. I remember Bea Arthur sang. It was a great atmosphere. He was a terrific performer, talented and truly funny. He was truly a gifted actor and certainly not a tacky lip-synq drag queen. An artist par excellance. A great loss.

I saw Charles Pierce at the small ‘Country Cousins Club’ on the Kings Road in London ... I think it was 1976. I was 21. He was amazing and called me ‘cute’ as he eyed up all us boys on the front tables. Sat at the back was Shirley Bassey and Quentin Crisp. What amazing days. R.I.P Charles.

I was "SO" fortunate enough to have seen Mr. Pierce perform many times in many theaters. I have never laughed so hard or been touched so deeply with another performers humor. Cheers to you Mr. Pierce!!!

I am young and missed his performances because I am from a different generation. I've seen him on youtube. What a MARVELOUS talent... he is the best. There will never be another like him. I wish RuPaul and others would pay homage to him and mention him. He makes me laugh every time I need a laugh. There is no greater gift than that. =M=

I had no idea until tonight he had passed. Perhaps there was little coverage for him in this neck of the dark woods. I loved his work. I feel somewhat less and lost without him hear....l love his words so I put them here. To win the respect of intelligent people and the appreciation of honest critics, and endure the betrayal of false friends; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived, This is success... I breathed easier because of the wonderful Charles Pierce.

I had the great pleasure of witnessing Mr. Pierce's classic impersonations in the late 80's in West Hollywood. Great talent and wit!

I never saw Charles Pierce in person but have often enjoyed short clips of his performances here on You Tube. I wasn't sure if he was still living and was saddened to see this, indicating he was not. Watching the video now and the music from Mame brings a tear to my eye.

I caught his show at Crazy 8's back in the '80's. He was every bit as grand and glamorous on that tiny stage as you see him here.

Thank you so much for posting this. I was fortunate enough to have seen Mr. Pierce live, and meeting him back in 1989 in San Francisco. He was indeed a star. Sweet as can be, too. Not the least bit pretentious. Funny as hell! He is really truly missed. No one has come close to his accomplishments and contributions to not just the gay community, but the world as a whole for making the world a bit more tolerant.

I actually just found him on KZbin. Even though they I now know (and gathered) they were from the ‘80s I still found him amazing and I was wondering how he was doing now. Then this popped up. I am saddened.
