To me, Proctor's death was the saddest on Power this season, even sadder than Lakeisha Grant....Proctor was loyal, manipulative but he still remained loyal. He got both Ghost and Tommy out of many situations and always had your back. When Tommy killed Proctor I felt that it was a low blow to the show. I don’t like how the show wrote off Proctor. Proctor had three strikes that lead to his death but the three strikes were not consistent with his character. Strike 1: Proctor allowed Saxe to outwit him. Saxe played mind games with Proctor by telling him that he will lose his daughter to his ex. This put Proctor in a state of panic. I feel like the Proctor I know would never allow Saxe to beat him in psychological warfare. Strike 2: Proctor plots Lindsay’s death which I also felt was out of character to me. Being in a state of paranoia after speaking to Saxe, Proctor puts to together an intricate scheme that involves him lying about dating an assistant and sending a fake exam failure notice in order to get Lindsay snorting again. This misstep gave Saxe more leverage once he heard the recording. Strike 3: Proctor snitched on Tommy. Being desperate after hearing the recording, Proctor snitched on Tommy in order to protect himself and his daughter. This decision lead to his death. Once again, this doesn’t seem like something Proctor would do. Proctor is usually clever and would’ve figured a way out of this without snitching. This all started because Proctor was outsmarted by Saxe which never happened before. I feel like the show got lazy when it came to how they sent off Proctor.

I agree with you 100%. All his actions in this one episode were extremely out of his character. Why risk his life over how his daughter was going to feel after hearing the recording of which he would have easily stated he said while making the call to 911. He gave up Tommy over a recording that will never it to court because it was illegal. Yeah the writer's got very lazy though they did mention they were looking for a moment as to when to get rid of him.

When he decided to be with Tasha he did want that but people's priorities change and when they're not on the same page it's no longer a good relationship. If we go all the way back to season 1, Ghost was testing Tasha he wanted to know if she really loved him and wanted him to evolve in life or if she only truly loved "the life" to begin with (the money, the penthouse, the high priced clothes, the bags, shoes, the drug game) well she failed. Angie however loved him for just him and actually believed in him and wanted him to pursue more than just the drug game. You could say she didn't know... but even after she found out she was still open to him being a legit businessman. Classic Angel & Devil scenario... Early on It's kind of funny when Tasha saying she didn't want things to change and stay the same forever now we know why... fast forward to this season she's broke and wants to be in the game so she could support her lifestyle once again. If Tasha wouldn't have been so selfish and open to change maybe he wouldn't have left?

Jerry Ferrara will always be known as Turtle from Entourage to me but seeing him play the role of Joe Proctor really made me see how good he is as an actor. He’s literally the reason I started watching this show. R.I.P. Proctor.
