The man was so smooth and down to earth. I can listen to him all day with a glass of whiskey. Hot damn the man got some soul. R.I.P brother.

@@Susan-mm2jlThanks for the info. I like music from all genres I've heard of, but this music by RLBurnside has a unique sound. I have heard the first few songs in this album so far, but I have heard Goin Down South and Somebody Baby; those two songs were breathtaking and opened my eyes to a whole new kind of music (a certain combination of genres and probably much originality).

Love everything about Burnside music; lyrics, music, singing and even the "don't give a shit" album cover page.

Once there was a rock station in Lawton, OK that played the blues every Sunday night for 2 hours. That's when I first heard RL. I miss that show.

As a musician myself, this is truly inspirational, i aspire to this, i love the production but remember this guy sounds good on his own, I've seen him playing in a field, just a rusty stringed geetar an old battered amp powered by car battery, no special fx necessary just talent, thats why this works so well, it has a great foundation, the raw talent, i have a long way to go myself, i'm working hard and its stuff like this that keeps me going. Might just have to visit a crossroads somewhere.

Joe Bonmassa is making all the money with mediocre blues. While lesser known but by far better artists like R.L. Burnside(R.I.P.) just get the crumbles.
