Had the pleasure of seeing RL in Australia in the early 90's - after the Dave Stewart doco. "Deep Blues" was released. He was with a couple of other artists. At the end - the audience (1/2 full venue) asked him back for an encore. He asked what we wanted him to play. The audience answer - to a person was "Play anything - we just want to listen." Signed autographs - came across as a very humble man. He got a terrific ovation from an appreciative audience.

If I was the lighter-skinned brother in this video, I would have the blues as well. I graduated from high school in 1986, so I know about wearing Miami Vice-inspired loafers and snug, highwater jeans, too. As horrible as that sounds, it's not what I refer to, even if you did throw up in your mouth just a little. Of course I'm talking about the Ovation guitar. A left-handed one, at that. He is a better man than I am. I'm not strong enough, not secure enough to wield such an axe. Kudos, Kimosabe. Kudos. You shall overcome.
