That's sad. My cat is 13 and purrs up a storm. I accidentally touch her and she starts to purr. I never heard of one stopping purring in old age. I would be sad if my little girl stopped purring. It is a big part of who she is!

The Nicksotall story actually reminds me of a similar one my dad has. An old friend of my dad's has a son and he mentioned "My best friend Matt" (My dad) and the kid picked up on it and started telling these bizarre stories about his best friend Matt. He stopped doing it a few years ago but my dad's always been very proud of being somebody's imaginary best friend.

Dog story: My dog (who’s dead) was attached to my mom, all of our dogs were. I slept in the attic with my sister because of the lack of space. I still slept with my mom at the time so when she went up to the attic, so did he. When my mom went downstairs in the morning while I was still asleep, he would stay with me until I woke up. The question "what is the kindest thing a pet has ever done to you?" Actually made me think of my old dog (who is still alive just not living with us anymore because of age) because when I was born she also gave birth to puppies. For some weird reason my mom said she thought I was also a dog and also said that she tried feeding me with breast milk at one point (which is kinda disgusting yet wholesome in a way I guess) but then stopped after she figured out that I wasn't a dog because of my size and... Obviously I didn't really release anything dogs release once they get older so she was gonna figure out at some point.

Since this is r/MadeMeSmile, here's a cute story: When I was in 5th grade, there was a 5 year old my mom use to baby sit. Basically, the orginal babysitter had cancer and was in the hospital. This boy was the son of my mom's friend. So she started taking care of him. His mom dropped him off at our house in the early morning before I left for school. He was like a little brother. I would come home, do my homework, and then play with him for an hour, sometimes preforming "magic" tricks. Apparently, everytime I went to school in the morning, the little boy would ask my mom "when is [My name] coming home?" He would ask my mom this every 30 minutes. When I did come home, he would run back and forth asking me if i was done with my homework, even if I had just sat down to do it. Anyways, he was an amazing little kid. Sadly he doesn't remember who I am, but the memories were worth it. Plus, I really wanted a little brother, and it felt like I had had one.

I came to watch this video after a really close friend of mine had difficulties breathing and was admitted into the hospital. Things got a little better before they started to get worst again and unfortunately she began to suffer lung damage. I lost hope and came to watch this video to cheer me up. Here’s a small thing that might make somebody’s day: I was at my friends house yesterday (he lives off campus) and he lets people write on his walls. I’m an artist so I asked if he had any paint and he brought me some so I began painting on his wall. He offhandedly mentioned that his roommate had a snake and I said I wanted to meet it. He went and got it. I ended up petting him for a little while as the paint dried and he eventually cooled down and fell asleep in my left hand. I’m a righty so I still managed to paint while the snake just slept in my hand. The snakes name is Seymour and I should tell you he is a very polite young man.

I once was in camp and a kid in my cabin got into an argument with another. Got really heated, and the larger kid had a full on breakdown. 3 kids in my cabin including me, got up, and stopped a fight, partially because we would all get in trouble, but also because we knew that the larger kid had a hard time with anger issues. We managed to calm him down after half an hour of talking to him, and we only had to hold him physically once. I’m glad that others, especially at my age can understand that people have bad times, and that it can be up to you to help them.

I’ve had my two goldfish for 10 years now, they don’t mind our 1 year old dog at all or anything for that matter but the one thing I love and will miss when they go to above to their fishy pals is when they are hungry they would swim up to the top of the water and blow bubbles- it’s adorable

Heres a story, so my teachers father took care of veterans in hospitals, the veterans were board, so he had river full of fish so the veterans could fish, he also built a golf course for them, he nows have a mural of him holding a baby bird. Edit: Also recently a friendly black cat appeared on our porch. We named him John Oliver. Another edit:My teacher also used to work for the mentally unstable kids, shes a legend. She got hurt really bad from it, but she kept making them happy, the school had a workshop, and the kids, liked rap, so they bought parts to make a beat box to raise money.

Hey, as someone who also has a very persistent mean voice in my head, I understand how you are feeling. I would suggest finding an activity that has multiple small steps to take, so you can have some easy accomplishments. Because realizing you can do small things can help you try for bigger goals. Personally, I started reading a lot and keeping every book I´ve finished. If you want to talk more about this, Im right here. Just remember that I am no professional.
