My school was once plastered everywhere and it's actually funny how that came to be. See I used to go to highschool near a public health facility. So sometimes people would walk in thinking it was the medical place nearby. So they wrote tons of signs on the front that said: "That place is there" and an arrow indicating the place and how distant it was from there. Until they decided to put the word school on the front door. They printed one letter per page to form the word _SCUOLA_ which is Italian for school. Now if you're Italian you've seen that photo plastered on every news article, news broadcast when talking about schools closing down due to quarantine. It was everywhere. Everyone was sending photos about where they'd seen our school. I don't think there was a single news station that didn't use that photo. Because in Italy schools are usually named after important people. Writers, painters, polical figures, important activists etc. And outside the school you'd often see an engraved plaque with the name of the school and what kind of school it is (ie elementary school, middle etc.). So we don't have a huge sign that says school. But that maybe conveyed the message better since it was clear it was a school. I guess sometimes people can't effing read! For example we have one at the entrance of my university that reads: "Department of architecture and Design" in Italian. And tourists still try and come inside thinking it's some historical building they can visit. To be fair it is partially historical but man. When you see a plaque and the Italian, European flag plus one with our logo on it what makes you think it's not a school or an institutional building?

Because most tourists probably can't speak/read italian, which means they don't know what the text says. They probably also don't know the meaning behind the logo and assume that because there are flags, it's a historical site or something. I know I would've assumed that at first because aside from the italian text (which, again, most tourists can't speak/read italian) there's nothing _explicitly_ stating that it's a university of some kind
