You know what is amazing to me is, how hard they work this locomotive. Compared to the U.P. Big Boy, which has never really worked under heavy load since the rebuild, (guess they are afraid to unleash its full fury) I'm just amazed at the sound of a truly hard working steam locomotive in 2022. Sound is just amazing. Thanks.

Great video! This locomotive is pure power! Out here in the Pacific Northwest, we have 4 operational steam locomotives at the Oregon Rail Heritage Center (ORHC) : SP&S # 700, a 1938 Baldwin 4-8-4, SP # 4449, a 1941 Lima GS-4 4-8-4, OR&N # 197, a 1905 Baldwin 4-6-2 Pacific, and Mt. Emily Lumber Co. # 1, a 1920 Lima 3-Truck Shay. Late this year in 2023 (or early next year in 2024), the ORHC will have all 4 of it's steam locomotives under steam side-by-side for a photo-op in Portland, Oregon!
