Много лет проработал машинистом тепловоза 2-тэ-116 есть права машиниста паровоза ...всегда с трепетом и уважением относился к паровозу удивительная машина ...есть в ней что-то не из мира сего...мощь,красота....когда проходили практику в паровозном депо ст. Дебальцево эмоции зашкаливали..а старый машинист-паровозник видя наши горящие глаза с удовольствием делился своими секретами и разказывал разные истории которые с ним преключались.....

Возможно зависит от качества угля. У немцев много бурого угля, а наш кормят антрацитом (краем уха слышал, что была классификация углей для разных топок, разного предназначения)

Hallo Eisenbahner unser Opa fuhr eine 44 Dampflok bis 6.7.76 in Karlsruhe sah diese Aufnahme sehr begeistert an. Die 44 Dampflok zog alleine bis 1200t mit etwa 30 Stundenkilometer diese drei Dampfloks arbeiten etwa so zusammen Zwei Dampfloks ziehen die Lasten Die letzte Dampflok schiebt an das Bewegung also kein Schleudern und Stehen bei der Anfahrt auftritt Die dritte Dampflok sorgt bei den Lasten dafür das die zwei Dampflok vorne gut 👍 Anfahren können Auch gibt die erste Lock das Signal zum Anfahren bereit und die 2 wird auch bereit sein wie Nummer Drei auch gibt die dritte Dampflok Signal für schnelle Fahrt Übrigens braucht man auf Dampflok eins und zwei bei den Lasten mindestens 5 Tonnen Kohle fom Wasser ganz zu schweigen Da brauchst du keinen Leistungssport mehr Jungs Damals warst nicht mehr am Abend am Fernseher sondern nur kaputt

I always love when one off these old trains drive through my old hometown :) Always a Highlight. Especially since you can always hear them way in advance. My family has a rather big train history as my grand, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather were operators of such machines. My mother always is excited like a little kid when she sees or even hears those things as it was her childhood to an extend

Two were probably needed to actually move it all, the third is used as spare power in case one breaks down, so they don't clog the line. Also, the more locos used, the lower the stress on them, so they last longer between maintenance. The last reason is a general sore spot for steam engines. When climbing a grade, its not to hard to stall out a single loco, and when it isn't stalled, its going rather slow. More locos = more horsepower = greater speeds when going uphill. I compare what Al Krug had to say with that from an engineer for British rail who had retired from steam engines when EMD arrived on the scene - "the harder you work them (steam), the better they perform", whereas Krug maintained that 5 times the speed did not equate to 5 times the horsepower - or vice versa (my interpretation).

@@hughvane Your welcome. There is a certain truth to the "the harder you work them (steam), the better they perform" quote as you want to work them at the rated horsepower, or rated power output. Below the rated power output speed, the loco will produce less and less horsepower as it has an upper limit of pulling force, where a diesel won't if it had the traction for it.

The dirty smoke is produced when they shovel coal in the firebox, and the clean fog is condensed steam from the engine, wich is also used to pull the hot air out of the firebox to suck in clean air and blow up the fire.

Naja, das kommt immer darauf an wie präzise man den Dampf reguliert. Grundsätzlich haben die beiden einen gleichen Takt. Da geht es eben um Gespür und Gehör. Denn die Maschinen sind ja in puncto Dampfregulierung nicht fest verbunden. Für Gespannfahrt braucht man wirklich viel Erfahrung. Vor allem wenn man wie hier "volles Ballett" fährt.

Waren es 27 Waggons? Beladen mit Kies? Dann wiegt ein Wagon etwa 90 t? Mit drei Loks sind dann ja ungefähr 2800 t unterwegs.

Klar heute und Elektronik und Diesel Bei Steigungen wird ab 600 Tonnen nachgeschoben. Bei Dampfloks ist es nötig nach zu Schieben, ein Jumbo mit 1200 Tonnen fährt höchstens 60 km. Bei kleineren Steigungen 30 km, die zwei Dampfloks am Anfang des Zuges hätten diese Lasten alleine machen können. Übrigens war es auch etliche Steigungen, zur Sicherheit wurde die dritte Lok abgekoppelt. Außerdem wurde Signal für das Abfahrt gegeben Erste Ĺok pfeift bereit Die zweite antwortet ɓereit Das die dritte Dampfloks Zeichen gibt Erst einmal wen Dampfloks 2 und die 3 Signal geben hat Meldet Dampfloks 1 Abfahrt, bei der Last reicht der Vorrat des Wasser bis etwa 150 Kilometer aus. Danach ist das Auffüllen der Kohle und Wasser angesagt Danke für den klasse Film 🎥 Leider sieht man es heute nicht mehr

by whistling/course map and signals! all engines do have modern course maps/plan that show all stops/tempolimitis and other stuff!! and they must have a modern speed warning system on board which tells the next speed that will be allowed

I found that it wasn't until 1974, that a diesel could out pull a steam engine. The Edna G was a steam tug boat on Lake Superior, , I toured in 1980. It was 400 hp, and could out sprint 14000 hp diesel tugs. With steam, nearly maximum torque is at zero rpms, it takes time for a diesel to get to the rpms with the max torque.

Why are they using steam locomotive nowadays? Beatifull machines but i thought these type of locomotives were only used in a touristic works.
