It is pretty similar to Dark Souls in its gameplay loop to be fair. I love both games, played DS2 + 3 but fell in love with these games because of Nioh 1

@@MatthewManney combat mechanics are nothing to do with the gameplay loop mate. Kill shit for souls/amrita and rest up at bonfire/shrine to regain health/elixers but all enemies respawn. Continue until reaching the boss via shortcuts unlocked as you go through the map. That's the gameplay loop. I agree with you that the combat is better on Nioh, by miles. However, with all the stays on armour and armour sets, the game can get way too easy. Currently on WOTS now and I'm face-tanking bosses and killing them in under a minute

I've been playing for 3 days now and have no idea how anyone could get this good at the game. I'm level 16 and still stuck on Mezuki. I can handle mobs fairly effectively now, but I can't time burst counters correctly (still get the thwack) and trying to get the ki pulse timing right whilst being bludgeoned by a massive mace is... Impossible (for me).

You are the greatest Nioh player. I never understood how you manage you ki so well. Would you make a video explaining how you level up your character and how you manage to do so much damage without running out of ki? It’ll be greatly appreciated.

If you switch stances while doing the ki pulse you gain more ki than just by doing a regular ki pulse thanks to ki flux II. That and he's a hell of a skilled player as well lol

Thank you! I use Flux II to recover most of my Ki when i need to as well as understand enemies recovery frames so you can steal few hits and retreat. Also, not holding the guard button helps you regenerate your Ki much faster than when you're guarding so make sure you hold guard only when needed and rely on range management to be out of enemies reach.

Excellent video as always maestro. And of course you would use Basara Utage's ost, it just fits so well. The combos are amazing and that tonfa dash + cancel is the stuff of dreams. How do you feel about the new elements put in, like demon form, the revised skill system, RPG stuff etc? Do they mesh well or are there hiccups now due to unforseen balancing issues?

I liked I combination of tonfas(courage) and dual blades(skill) the ki recovery helps a lot. And I loved The Katana(heart) and spear(constitution) very springy on low stance and deadly.

@@aleee2010 yeah, you definitely got gud :) I died over 10 times to the 1st boss, 13 times to the monkey yokai but strangely none to the Twilight boss, I feel that he doesn't hit hard at all or else I'd have died a few times, but anyway I loved his design, he's a better onrioky or whatever the name of the iron ball yokai from the 1st game

how do u make the special yokai grab 0:19? i always try to do with enemys that have ki break and tired but only can do regular grab or yokai skill, wich is the input?

If the last Ki depleting attack was your Yokai burst counter and the enemy is out of Ki it will make the enemy crumble. So, if you press triangle fast enough you can do that Yokai form grab instead of the regular one.

Hey Gladiator can you please explain again how to do weapon switch attack without changing weapons, I try it by pressing r1 in active frames of my attack, changing weapons twice releasing r1 and pressing again but I can’t do it is there maybe something else I miss?

You are changing weapons, but the trick is changing it twice. First, you don't just press R1 during active frames, you need to hold it. While still holding it, after the recovery ends press the d-pad to change to the secondary weapon. Then let go of R1 and press it again with the d-pad to go back to your first sellected weapon and do the usual weapon switch animation.
