Rōnin (浪人)talks over performance carbine

As a former Green Beret, I had to be proficient in the application of a combat carbine while deployed operationally throughout the world. In this video, I talk over the body performance in combat shooting and the drills to help develop this. During my time on the Special Forces A-Teams, I’ve seen and employed many different applications to enhance my speed and accuracy with my combat rifle. Understand how I have taken forms and teachings from martial arts and athletic sports to enhance my balance, power, footwork and reactive speeds.

I come from the executive protection Field. I’ve been training for the last 10 years in CQB and long Distance shooting. I’ve trained with countless instructors and I’ve been exposed to countless amounts of egos. I’ve been following TU For a while now . I hate to be that guy that hypes up airsoft, but watching all of these makes me think, airsoft really did help me get better with firearms. Treating them as real firearms, practicing reloads, doing drills, and making sure you aren't going to get blasted by somebody. I know it's nothing close to a real firefight but it sure helps me. I know more about firearms and drills than my dad and he's a cop.

One thing I've learned in marine corps boots camp take your time when first learning if you rush you fumble and take longer take a comfortable pace and you move more efficiently and as time goes on your muscle memory gets better and faster.

You learn to move fast and sloppy like it's life or death- the smoothness comes with operating at speed for long enough. I never recall a DI saying "take your time, sweetheart" when it wasn't ultra sarcastic. You knew what he meant- and you performed at the speed required. Speed and smoothness are not mutually exclusive when learning. You practice both ways- fast and sloppy, AND slow and smooth. Eventually, it becomes fast and smooth- if you can be convinced just how important this is- the slow and sloppy drops away. Practice with a real sense of urgency .

My thoughts on the Pits. Yes, our ranges have pits that we run up a large target for the shooter. But the part some might not know is that when I was in, we shot and qualified from 0 - 500 Yards at that target with iron sights. I can tell you now that at 500 yards that big target looks like stamp. In boot camp it is also drilled into our head why we are they as well. 1. Every Marine is a Rifleman no matter what your MOS (job) is. 2. The drill instructors would constantly yell "Let me hear your battle cry" and the correct response is "kill, kill, kill". They do this as a constant reminder of why you are really there. Not for the GI Bill, not for the Dress Blues, you are there for one purpose, to kill. Overall, what he is teaching here is more advanced and evolved than what we all learned in the military. Everything he says makes complete sense and I have adjusted to this style of shooting.
