My mom was a Karen. I can confirm this is the loop. When she passed in 2013, most of her siblings (she had 5) didn't want to attend the funeral. They decided to go in the end to support her children. None of her "friends" were there, just people she loosely associated with at the VFW bingo night. To this day, nobody speaks of her fondly, except my dad who is an overly kind and generous man who went through way too much abuse from her. I think my one half-sister still thinks of her fondly but she was the eldest golden child who could do no wrong. She had me at 38. But I saw how in her late 40's and early 50's, she was very vibrant and very social. But none of this lasted. I saw how she rarely had any friends, and watched as people would leave. She'd dump me off at friends as a child so she could go out. Those friendships would dissolve pretty quickly. I wasn't a bad kid. I just liked to quietly read and draw. But I'm pretty sure she wasn't compensating or just doing things to piss them off. One of these people dropped the relationship with my mom but always let me come over to stay however long I needed when I wasn't in school. She was a great lady, an artist, and just an overall cool person. In retrospect, I think she saw the abuse I was going through and wanted to give me someplace safe. If there were family gatherings at our house (and sometimes others) there would often be shouting matches at best. As her health was declining, everyone kind of left. The only ones who were there with her at the end were myself, my dad, my siblings and one aunt. My mom did have a small turning point in 2005, when years of smoking and working herself into rages landed her with a stroke. She mellowed out a little bit, (to the point we could have a somewhat decent relationship) but was still full of backhanded comments. She became less controlling and demanding at least. But she was still generally unpleasant.

When I was elementary school, I led borrow a “friend” something I had and they promised they would return it the next day. Unfortunately I never saw the item I lend them ever again. I am still upset about it to this day

They’re even trying for a 6th.... with 4 teen boys and 1 almost teen girl who all have to share rooms still except for the girl (some of the rooms are so tiny) so i hope that kid #6 doesn’t happen.

As #2 out of 5, I feel your pain kid. My spawn point did it just to remain home, but really I was more of a parent to them than their Karen of a mom.

This story scares me to death, because I think my daughter might be an up and comming Karen. I try desperately to teach her humility, and being kind to others, but just know that Karens create themselves, I think from poor self image, and the thrill of getting what they don't deserve, and not from poor parenting.
@devilsadvocate74744 жыл бұрын
You can make her take a psychological evaluation in order to have a professional opinion on the matter. Depending on the age of your daughter, a lack of empathy can be a symptom of many mental disorders

Poor Hank. He probably stuck around so long for the kids, not Pat. Hank probably had zero self esteem, so he was an easy target for someone like Pat. I'm glad he finally got the help he desperately needed and divorced the psychopath. I'm so upset that he lost his case, though. Did they allow ANY witnesses? There would be more than enough people that would testify against her. Those 5 kids are gonna grow up to be Karens and I'm terrified of that reality. We don't need more Karens.

19:02 I'd honestly like to meet this woman, so I can tell her the words everyone wants to say "you want everything to revolve around you and your happiness, but the truth is, you're living a fantasy. You lie, you steal, and you hurt the people who love you and they thought that you'd love them too, and the only way you get the attention of everyone, is if you're dead and buried, and the one you hurt the most, Hank will only come back to piss on your grave, to return the kindness you gave him."
@SarahsKnight03 жыл бұрын
Pat says she was trying to raise an "assertive young woman" ... basically saying it will be okay if my daughter grows up to outright steal from people and bully them into silence all the time.

I have never understood having a wedding renewal. Have an awsome anniversary party, sure. But why a 2nd wedding? Unless perhaps the couple had seperated and was getting back together. I guess I could comprehend that. Is that what they are for? Genuinely asking.

I was once a groomsman to a Horrible wedding. Although one of the most memorable ones I'll Ever be in. Tldt (to long didn't type) the groom spent 2000 dollars per suit, custom fit, x6 when his cheap ass wanted a suit for each for 100 dollars... at men's warehouse. I still have the 2000 dollar suit,wore it for my own wedding actually.

You know I almost want more out of this story! Plus I’d love to see what this woman looks like. I’d almost feel sorry for this B, but she brought it all on herself. You can’t be mean and nasty to everyone around you and expect them to put up with it forever. I think deep down she knew who was responsible. Like a true narcissist, she was the victim but when the realization that she was on her own sunk in, she was defeated. Lol Oh well, one day she’ll re-emerge, Karen’s never stay down long. They can’t, they have to be the center of attention.

This was soooooo satisfying I had to watch it twice. I was hoping they'd trash the wedding or something but they way they just beautifully ruined her dream wedding and then crushed her spirit completely was delectable. Shame no one got any cake though.

I was halfway hoping that Hank would turn that cut into a mortal wound, and instead of renewing his vows, serve her with divorce papers at the ceremony.
