Hiring the Jim Henson Company would be a genius move. Obviously I’m not against CGI for characters and performance capture but just as a love letter to the best live action adaptation it would be so damn cool as Henson animatronics.

If Henson could team up with Spectral Motion then that would be unstoppable. I'd love to see practical suits designed by The Creature Shop with the mechanical leaps that Spectral Motion has done over the years.

@@Therealones745 the technology has evolved by leaps and bounds since the original film. Hell even the suits from the original were not as advanced as some of the other creatures from the era (The Predator being one of them). This was mainly down to budget. As I said, if they bring in a company like Spectral Motion, renouned for their complex, life-like motion in their animatronic characters, alongside the creative and design strengths of the Creature Shop, you'd get some really good practical Turtle suits that actors can act and react to, something that has been missing in the VFX heavy "Post-Avatar" era of film making. That's not to say there isn't a need for VFX, the suits would obviously require some VFX augmentation and the more bombastic side of the fights would require digital versions to sell the speed and skill of the Turtles. I wouldn't consider it "for nostalgia" and more "using every trick at their disposal" to make the best product they can, but then again I'm conditioned to think that way after 20 years of working in practical SFX alongside many talented men and women from both sides of the Effects divide (SFX and VFX).

I have to admit, my original disappointment that TNMT: The Last Ronin was going to be live-action disappeared once you brought up that the Jim Henson Company could be hired to make REALLY good practical effects for it.

The one thing that I love about the first TMNT movie is they used a cricket reference, actually i loved everything about that film .

My pick for the director for this EPIC story would have to be: Gareth Evans. He has directed both Raid films for those who aren't familiar with his work & he has the absolute talent to see this through. Also, this film should be split into 2 films as well. Now imagine the turtle fight sequences from the badass fight choreography team from those Raid films. Imagine. I just need to live that much longer now.

Im 46 in about 4 weeks. I've waited 34 of those years for a super violent darker ninja turtle story. 12 year old me wouldn't fucking believe this incredible news😂 And ffs watch mutant mayhem its great👍

Fact that the IP is so old u have multiple older generations that will be automatic audience wishing for something like this. Im a crusty old 41 year old and i know there are millions of “mes” out there, so going practical, hard R, will get so many of us in the theater. The younger family friendly versions can coexist no problem. Fingers crossed!

Hmmm...I'm skeptical. Not because of the R rating but more with how they're going with The Last Ronin. I just feel like I might prefer all the turtles for the project. That's just me though, the person who actually likes Secret of the Ooze. 😂I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Maybe skeptical's not the right word. I'm unsure how to feel. I'm interested in the concept. Just again, I kinda would prefer it be focused on all the turtles.
